Definitely got in my feels putting this together. The majority of this footage was captured in the month before and after we moved. Missing everyone deeply, but so loving this adventure. 💜
This is such a timely video for me. I'm literally moving to a different city in 2 days after the loss of an important loved one. I'm glad your move was successful! Crossing my fingers on mine
@@bye.zoey02 I’m so sorry for your loss, sending you absolutely all the love. I hope your transition goes well, and allow your self to feel all the feelings 💜
That was amazing. Totally saving this for our next steps. And I wish I had this foresight during our last big move. I feel blessed to have found you here Kaya, even if it may be a while until we meet. Goodluck ♡
I love your storytelling style ❤. What a special video. I started ‘Third Culture Kids’ not too long ago to better learn how my child will grow up as we continue to travel and move abroad. I need to get back into the book.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!! 💜 and I think it’s so important to think about how travel affects kids! I definitely want to check out more books on the topic for my own journey!
This is so well put together, Kaya! ❤ You made the moving transition as a happy moment to remember and not a sad one, that’s beautiful! I remember when I left for Australia, I very much avoided my move for being a thing, so I didn’t do any of these.. I packed light, I did everything as normal leading up to it.. Only told a few people about it and kept telling them that it’s not a big deal, I’d come back even before they knew it (yet 7 years later, I’m still here 🤣) I sort of wishes I could do things differently, but that’s a learning process on my part, I guess.. Anyways, can’t wait to see your Hong Kong adventures 😊
Aw thank you so much for the kind words, and for sharing! I did a smaller move when I was 18 to NYC, just for a year, and I didn't do any of this at the time, and I think it made it quite hard for me--but we don't know what we don't know! Also so crazy that you've been in Australia 7 years now--time really flies.
Wow! I had no idea you’re such a small channel, this feels so well put together. You’ll definitely be successful with this. I’m not planning to move anytime soon, but I have a partner that grew up all around the world, with an expat family. He loves traveling and I’d love to explore that with him one day 🥰 I will keep all this in mind when the day comes. Enjoy life in Hong Kong :)
@@tiredatm thank you SO much for the kind words 🥹💜 really hoping this little corner of the internet grows into something special, and if not-it’s a been a beautiful way for me to process this move! And that’s so cool about your partner, I find it really cool how our relationships can open travel doors, or inspire us to explore!! 💕
I grew up in Hong Kong and made a big move to Australia on my own, feel the same as you and thought I would not able to see my friends and family for long time (smart phone was not yet widely used at that time). After some years in Australia, life has turned over and I bought my Australian husband to Hong Kong again. We have been living in HK since then, just over 12 years now. We actually not really feel so far from Australia, and one of the good things of your husband working in international school, he will have a lot of hoilday, can travel many asian countries within 3 hours flight, and flight back to Canada is affordable with the income. We considered the move in HK make us in a better financial poistion, we traveled most asian countries now, and will go back Australia to see family for twice a year. Our kid is also studying in international school and loving it.
Thank you so much for sharing! We definitely are looking forward to making the most of his vacation time and exploring nearby countries!! First have to recoup money from the move though 😂
I loved this, Kaya! I think RAF(G)T will help me with my much smaller but very impactful move at the end of this month! Thank you for sharing! Love to you and Darren ❤
I am so glad!! Love you so much--I think it will be incredibly helpful. Something else it recommended that I missed adding in, is for the Farewells, it's helpful to take pictures of things--parts of your home, your neighbourhood, etc as something to revisit and process later too.

Fantastic🎉🎉
Thank you!! 💜
I moved 5 times to very different parts of the world. This resonates very much. Wish I knew RAFT when I moved
Oh wow that's incredible, and it's so cool to hear it resonates with someone who has more experience than we do!
