Life isn’t always a race! Slow down and enjoy the ride. I have to tell myself that a lot, one day I’ll figure it out! I’m battling mice as well! Now that’s not what the Milwaukee was designed for lol. Hmm 2 more “ huh 😂.
good video and job yes i made it till the strap broke when you pushed log back. so hot here i have not ran sawmill in a month did cut some trees down for cow to eat leaves. glad you had a happy anniversary.. take care, be safe and well.
Well you know what they say, a sawyer's work is never done. When you're awake, you're sawing logs. When you're asleep, you're sawing logs.🤣🤣 Good show!
The strap broke when you pushed the carriage back. You turned the log without it. BTW, I liked your top saw, the Milwaukee one. You could do that again. If you had a laser it would tell you exactly where to cut.
John I really like your processes, you have ways of working easy and saving effort and they work well for you! I really enjoy the diversity (corny I know) of the you tube saw millers. We have all sorts of mills and operations and each is interesting in the way the sawyers solve the same problems. ❤
Happy anniversary John and Sarah. My wife and I will celebrate our 48th anniversary in a few weeks. Hard to believe they put up with us that long. Many more to you 🎉
Happy anniversary to you and your wife, and hope you have many many more. In as far as the tired thing, that's life. So you have to slow down and take it easy then so be it. As long as you still enjoy what you are doing.
Before the two "turn downs" of the log, you should have made one more board on each side of the log before turning (2 more boards). Don't "wear the log out" by turning much too quickly, as a few mills do!!! Stick the log in the saw and get it done...like Mike McCoy sawed, faster and efficent!! Don't be afraid of it! Just a little bit of constructive criticism, I'm certainly not trying to be hateful, just making a point.😃 Thanks for the video. Love watching you saw, one of my favorite UA-cam mills.
hi there i ran out of blade at the top ,and the low knot was hitting the mandrel / collar . Mike had a lot higher bed hight and a 60 inch saw along with a log turner and help .like Mark . so there is a hole different way of looking at a log and sawing ,as well , thanks for dropping in john
I made it to the end. Keeping your cardio up by trying to manhandle these big poplar logs. I think I figured out my mystery mill. Best I can tell is it's a J.A Vance mill. I'm not positive but looks the closest by watching 746 different saw videos
@fricknjeep you've already been a bunch of help, just by listening to the things you say in your videos. I managed to find a PowerPlant I think, now gonna have to start laying down some timbers and putting the puzzle together.
hi there around that time they were moving into gas and diesel from steam , in there books there was not much on it , an i think it was a different hp .there were so many factors ,now days 100 is a nice place to work around , john
Happy Anniversary John and Sara! The hat is back! Yay! You broke that rachet strap when you manually pushed the carriage back. I thought I saw a buch of sawdust on the conveyor before you started. Were you shovelling it from under the mill? Bill

Its called a cant because typically you can't use it for nothing until you do more milling on the cant to make something useful out of it.

@fricknjeep you've already been a bunch of help, just by listening to the things you say in your videos. I managed to find a PowerPlant I think, now gonna have to start laying down some timbers and putting the puzzle together.
Did Frick have a recommended horsepower? I was thinking of what was out there around 1930 for a powerplant.
hi there around that time they were moving into gas and diesel from steam , in there books there was not much on it , an i think it was a different hp .there were so many factors ,now days 100 is a nice place to work around , john
Made it!😄

That's not a can't hook . That's a peavy. A can't hook has a blunt end and a peavy has a spike.
hi there yes i know i was more just saying about what turns the log , john
club med to me
