Thanks for the tips! Quick question: Does the protection from sandbags Stack? What I mean is if you do two rows of sandbags, is your infantry better protected against supression for instance since there are more obstacles in the way? Or does it only count the first line and the second doesn't affect anything? Not that anyone in comp would do that but I was just wondering.
Cover doesn't stack against small arms fire, and a double stack is actually worse if a tank or AT gun fires at it (rather than at the unit behind it) because the cannon tag lets it destroy objects one tile away from the hit, and the infantry takes damage from being next to a destroyed object, in effect increasing the range of the hard attacker by a tile.
An important note on shift-commands: It doesn't work with vehicles that you want to path with reverse move, nor with infantry you want to exit a building and shift-do stuff. In the first case, the tank just forgets that you gave it an order to reverse around the hot zone and reverses directly to the last point; in the second case, the infantry forgets the exit order and does nothing at all. Also, it doesn't work with orders following attack ground. Obvious, really: The ground doesn't get killed, so that order never finishes. Which is too bad if you want to send one mortar shell exactly *here* , then one *here* , then *here* and so on, raining boominess on moving targets :/
you might should have add for tip 4, attack ground is also a good thing if you wanna destroy bridges so that you keep the enemy off from flanking you a side you dont want to or leave the enemy to repair it.

That only happens with buildable sandbags, their heavy cover area is very large, so you need atleast 2 layers of barbed wire to properly block it off. But various sources of green cover, such as rubble, vehicle wrecks, short stone walls, a type of sandbags that isn't buildable and so on will get blocked by barbed wire so infantry can't use them as cover.
