I do it using the poppypharoah blasted method, which is where you put the du rag on first without tying it, pull the du rag down over your eyebrows, then put the stocking cap over it, then fold the durag up, so it's not hanging over your eyebrows anymore, and covers the band of the stocking cap, then tie it up. I don't tie the du rag tight at all, I let the stocking cap do all the compression. So the line comes from the stocking cap, not the du rag.
Make It OutTV I take mine off in my sleep I wear a stocking cap under neath. It helps beforr I put durag on because it stops my hair from moving when I put my first on

I'm a regular waver. Throughout the year I do fall off. I think everyone can agree most of us don't like good hair natural wavers; because we know how much work and time it takes to get the waves we're satisfied with or want. I don't knock elite wavers no matter how you got them because you're my motivation to continue this lifestyle.
Coming up I really thought you had to have “good hair” to get waves. I can count on one hand how many times I put in the work to get waves and just thought it was a fluke or something. Now that I understand that brushing consistently is a MAJOR KEY, I’m now starting to see To my hair in the best state I’ve ever seen it since I’ve begun waving. I do elite waiver things but i will brush for like 10-15 mins and then rag up for like 2 hours and then go to a brush session for like a little longer than i usually brush then at night I go to a full blown out brush session and then lay my hair down with a soft brush then put the wave grease in my head and then do the plastic bag method then rag up 🔥💯

I wear a du rag with a stocking cap over it. Is there a way to stop that line from over compression on your forehead while still using those 2 items?

dont know how to say this. you have to get thicker style Cap were its much wider on your forehead and back head. I had the same problem
Either get a Tsu Rag or learn how to tie your du rag with strings laying flat. .
