I’ve had the same truck that you have for about the last 15 years for my utility vehicle. I live where it snows a lot so a pick up truck is just kind of dumb. Why not have a huge box on the back! I love it. It’s a 1999 Isuzu NPR diesel and it just keeps going and running and working. Best purchase ever for $10,000 and it’s still worth $10,000.. You can haul a lot of beer in that truck.
Pressure washer with detergent sprayer, 1200 psi waterjet with 50%dish soap 50% isopropyl alcohol (90%) takes off grese, oil, grime, dirt, etc. 1 gallon does about 3 whole trucks.
@@petestools OMG! I never thought of that either! it makes sense when you think about it! Might have to try it this arvo! good day for it here in CHCH ;-)
Or was it a Pressure Washer fitting and not an air hose fitting and they have just fitted what was closest. In Oz we use the Japanese Nitto style air fittings, so different again. lol.
Brilliant one Pete good old fun watching you mess around and have fun :D as a young 17 year old myself, too young for the big money of trucks and cars but watches are my thing! Love seeing movements and how they work and taking apart myself and fixing always good fun us men and taking stuff apart! Love it keep it up Pete :))
The hose fitting you are using is and is commonly used in NZ industry is an Aro Coupler, looks like 1/4" BSPT thread. The style they supplied looks like a Nitto coupler. Not sure what the thread is though. Looks quite fine
Purple power from Walmart is my go to. Love the price love the product and best of all it’s purple, which looks really pretty when you’re drinking a beer.
I have used that kind of sprayer before, and it works great, but I end up spraying the painted surface of my vehicle which depending on the solvent can be hard on the wax. I prefer using a garden sprayer so I have better control of the overspray. My preferred solvent is Simple Green diluted 50/50 with water for really greasy engines, and 25/75 for general purpose light grime. The Simple Green is cheap and available everywhere. It works better when it’s diluted as I mentioned earlier, and it leaves my engine bay looking good too. As long as I don’t hit the engine’s sensitive electronics with high pressure, I never have any problems spraying electrical connectors with the mix as long as I rinse it with low pressure water.
Looks like you've found the perfect balance between cleanliness and car care! Who knew washing could be such a delicate dance? Just remember, no high-pressure drama around those electronics!
I've found that those guns are usually soft metal, so you can drill out the fitting hole and use your old hose connector as a tap and send it home, back it off a bit add some loctite tread lock and boom
So you're basically saying we should treat those guns like a DIY puzzle? Drill, tap, and voila! Just add a sprinkle of Loctite magic and you’re golden!
Back when I was a youngster, we had spray canister. We would put gasoline in the canister, attach air hose. Would clean all parts very well. I'm sure they don't make it anymore. The good news is that I own one.
Pete mate, it would be interesting to see if you can turn that thing into a sandblaster. Would need a container for the sand, and a pickup tube for the hose end.
I would’ve had to do the same exact thing you did here in the United States. You’re fitting looks just like ours. I have no idea what that stupid thing that came on it was but you did exactly the right thing. Let’s have a beer.!!!🍺
i have reflector from a ww2 carbon arc searchlight made by parsons in 1942 the numbers on it indicated metric 90/408 90cm diameter 408mm focal length. i was looking for imperial sized lights turns out miltary gear is metric from ww2 on to standardise equipment. apparently to work on a V12 merlin you need 3 sets of tools. bit of useless information about standardisation. with a 100w car HID the beam is visable 3km away and looks like it goes into space.

Purple Power or Castrol Super Clean works well as a degreaser. I use a smaller power washer but I like your idea.
I really appreciate your input! It’s always great to hear what works for others. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!

ryco or Rayco Fittings, Personnally prefer Jamec Penn.
