😮💨 🔥and keep asking me why I think autotune on chill beats is the move… Side note: I’m not an artist, just a guy who makes beats but knows engineers are the real heroes
firstly fire, this should be a whole song... On to business, how would you tackle Mastering your own track? Would you go one plug-in like a LANDR or would you go with an ozone 11 or analog mastering and I'm just screwed... 😅
I personally like to print masters but different versions through plugin alliance mastering plugins as if I had analog gear ( making the tweaks as it’s printing , to make the song feel “alive” vs just setting the plugin and letting it be the same throughout)
do people really master their instrumentals? i just mix and release, and nobody who has synced my music has complained about the mix in any beat so far. I think a decent mix is enough
But for what I think you want to do, (monitor autotune but not print it)… Create 2 Rec tracks, one with the preamp the other with autotune… Route (only) the one with the preamp to the one with autotune… Just remember to mute the preamp track and arm it as well… Or remove autotune from the rec track and put it on the Vox tracks if you still want to have vocals tuned
I actually had to make my print track to take out the background noise and eq for my vocals to pop out more because when I record i don't have the best area so it picks up the fan, ac window unit, and other smaller noises I would use a gate and other plug ins and if you have enough room left over you add other tweaks you would like for your print track
hey sky I've been struggling with changing flow but when I say flow I mean the flow or my sound because I've noticed that for last couple moths every time I go on a beat even if I freestyle I automatically go for the same flow melodic tone that I've done in the past but the thing is no matter what beat i use that flow or melodic tone fits dam near every time and it sounds good but I'm tired of it and I know if I keep this up my music will become or has become repetitive and I wont advance I've tried using less autotune and less melody but it doesn't sound as good as that one flow I really want a change of sound for every song obviously I will keep my sound but I want them to have more change and my initial sound has changed significantly to my current sound its been like 3 years any tips would be very much appreciated
Maybe try to colab with some artist and be with them in the studio, I'm trying to start and I do discord calls with a friend of mine that lives in a different country, we share screen and we make music freestyle, sometimes we look for type beats here on yt so we kinda get the vibes and we start a new beat kinda inspired of the type beats we heard, or we just start from 0 a new beat, and that's fine because in your head when ur freestyling that's ur most genuine flow, so for me it's nice to start mumbling or start vibing with flows first thought, because I may have some kinda flow to that beat and my bro starts with a totally different flow and that helps into being more versatile. Also when we are already making the songs (we do everything freestyle) it's always nice to have/give feedback, maybe switch lyrics/words, flows ways of saying things, more/less energy...
I'm pretty sure you can set multiple recording tracks at the same time, at least for my pc I think I couldn't record at the same time to compare autotune vs waves tune, but I was able to have my go to personal preset with neve, la2a la76 autotune and record at the same time with that chain (printing) and another track with 0 effects. But if ur used to record tru neve/avalon (or any pre amp) + compressors than you are just adding another step for no reason, the only reason I could think of is if you want to have your raw vocals without autotune cause sometimes the autotune flips, but if u have that raw vocal you can manually fix it and save that take.
I don't think you get what printing means.. Printing is when you have your raw vocals and you ADD EFFECTS and they stick to that recording for ever, for example you add your autotune and you set the retune speed to 0 (max tune effect) that recording would ever have that retune speed if you printed. But if you just monitor tru those effects, you hear yourself while recording with them on, but once you hit play to hear yourself back, you'll have no effects (unless you make another track with the same effects so you can tweak settings at any time). So print DRY VOCALS, doesn't exist, that's like saying "how can I kill someone that's already dead?"
It could be a lot of things causing it but you gotta make sure your vocals before mixing aren’t distorted or close to distorting. Then check and make sure you’re not over mixing or find a plugin that might be causing the issue and then make sure when you’re doing the car test the car settings in the car are flat and not overly boosted in the mids
fire video! When I route the main vocal to another mixing track, it gets louder, and if i route it to another one it gets even louder, without me doing anything, is that normal?
I’m tryna find the best way to explain it. You see the Green Strings at the bottom. The green circles are how much of one track your pouring into the next track…. So if you had a Lead Vocal track and your routing it to 3 more tracks the input is going to become louder. Unless you turn down the three and add fx on them. This is what we call send tracks. You send the vocal into 3 other effect tracks and turn each of them down to 0. Add a Delay, Reverb, and something to one of the three. The vocal track will not change in volume nor character at all. But as you turn up the knob on any one of those 3 effects. The more that specific effect blend in with the original vocal.😊
@@Fibonacci_Alpha yes this is the best way to add fx but not compromising the real raw vocal. the raw vocal and wet mixed makes the vocal sound really good. i really prefer fl studio the goat in this game

how to make your mix and master hit harder in fl studio
do people really master their instrumentals? i just mix and release, and nobody who has synced my music has complained about the mix in any beat so far.
I think a decent mix is enough
@@trapbeatproducerthey songs just don’t be good enough 90% of the time

if your mix is good enough.
making it a little bit louder is called mastering as much as i know (my opinion)@@trapbeatproducer
Can you print only from the preamp plug in only without the auto tune and put the autotune on the rec track. Or must the order be autotune first?
Uhm putting the autotune on the rec track will still print the autotune whether it’s first or last in the insert slots…
But for what I think you want to do, (monitor autotune but not print it)…
Create 2 Rec tracks, one with the preamp the other with autotune… Route (only) the one with the preamp to the one with autotune…
Just remember to mute the preamp track and arm it as well…
Or remove autotune from the rec track and put it on the Vox tracks if you still want to have vocals tuned
Any videos on removing hardwood floor noise in Logic Pro? Should I use a gate for this?
You need to get an area carpet to help but other than that yeah you’re gonna have to use a gate or get something like an eyeball

How to print dry vocals and post effects at the same time in FL?

I don't really understand how it print the effects when you move what you recorded down in the empty audio tracks ?
They effect is on the vocal permanently. Not a hard thing to understand
@ oh okay thanks because when I record vocals and then move it into another audio track it doesn’t print the effects so idk
@TravisFontaine did you choose the correct option?
@@SKYJORDXN I think so but can you tell me what option I have to turn it on ?

Give us free Avalon presets
Is it worth it to go to full sail?
You can go but it doesn’t mean you’ll be good at mixing lol it was a good move a few years ago but it’s way too much info available for free online
better just watch the alumni and industry people to learn the basics
You’d learn more if you could get an internship at a professional studio
