This is stupid because whomever is in the inside is going to win every time it should have been at least 2 laps or the inside lane vehicle starts back farther.
Not true at all. I own our local spectator drag win record for six years in a row, and I've started on the inside, on the outside, I've been asleep at the wheel on the start, etc. ---> The SECRET is a small, super light vehicle with a small turbo that spools really quickly, combined with ALL-WHEEL-DRIVE that THROWS you out in front immediately (no matter WHAT lane you're in). After that, it doesn't matter one single bit because they're stuck behind you. This is a race of immediate torque that you can lay down to the pavement. Horsepower doesn't matter one single bit in a Spectator Drag. ...six years of wins in a row. EDIT: I also bought a "Lifetime Alignment" package from Firestone for a one-time fee of $150. I have a tech throw a left-turning "circle track" alignment on the car the day of the drags. Then have it re-aligned back to normal the next day. It all depends on how much you want to win.
He's right though. Unless they can get off the line quickly and pass. Most don't want no contact so it's hard to pass when inside has the shorter line and can brake on the corners to maintain grip. I would of liked to see 2 passes on both inside and outside on each truck just to see...
Awesome! I was in the bone stock v6 f150 with the leveling kit on 20s lol! Debated giving the lowered red Ford the bumper but decided to dilly dally off and save the headache
That '90s Durango was nothing to show off unless in the 5.9l R/T trim, fast forward 25 years and the SRT Durango is one of the fastest & nastiest trucks available on the planet !

@@sergeantmasson3669 I am almost certain its a 2011-2014 with the 5.0L. Nah, the outside lane almost always loses, when the truck in the outside lane barely wins he earned it. They should run both races twice and whoever wins by the biggest gap should be the winner, but that would take twice as long and require timing them so it isn't really reasonable for spectator drags.
@@grabir01 he maybe bumped up a little but they left at the same time. Wouldn’t have made a difference, the guy in the red truck has more dollars than sense
Clearly. That GMC's turbo was no little hair dryer, but the red Ford was STILL giving him hell. Honestly, I think it came down to the driver...the Ford driver was too shy, whether simply being new to this or not wanting to risk his body panels, but even with that, he took out everyone and then made the winner go 2 out of 3. I was wondering what he was running in it...he's got a Ltd lower valance and Platinum tailgate. I've got a Ltd Lariat with 6.2L and a great AWD system, and I would love to run it in one of these, but 1) being my DD and what I pull a boat AND a camper with, I'd also be pretty reserved in running it and 2) with a leveling kit and load absorbing shocks in rear (for the towing), it wouldn't be nearly as fun in the turns as it could be with a different setup altogether.
You don't see many single cab anything's anymore sadly. Even extended cabs are fairly scarce compared to the abundance of loaded out crew cabs on the road these days.
It dominated anyway, the 5.0L is nearly as capable as the 3.5L Ecoboost stock for stock and the 5.0L responds to mods even better. The reason the red F-150 didn't win is because the driver was to conservative on the corners.
Unfortunately most of today's pickup truck buyers go with a 4 door model and a "gas saving" V6 that supposedly has more horsepower and torque rating then a V8 Coyote engine. I'm not going to say any names but it's kinda obvious which engine I'm talking about... It all sounds good on paper but go race a V8 F-150 FX4 subercab against your big 4 door soccer-mom truck that doesn't even have a bed long enough to haul a trash can! See who wins and who can tow more weight.
Have you seen GM with their Silverado they put a turbocharged 4 cylinder they are supposedly fuel efficient but when you want to carry heavy shit you're gonna get 2 miles per gallon
They’re out there risking it all in their daily drivers 😂😂😂
Lmao 🤣🤣🤣
They should do two laps where they have to switch sides of the track
Wish there more tracks and events like this in small towns across the country. America needs more of this and less watching TV and playing video games
18:02 It looks like the winner's engine is on fire at the very end.
looks like the fender liner is on fire from the hot turbo.
Yup, turbo leaking oil onto exhaust or a wiring loom too close to exhaust manifold is my guess
