Man, I love Ed. At first I was a bit taken aback that they swole'd him up instead of using his teen appearance, but Ono is Ono, every girl must be a 10 and every guy must either be swole or fat.
I started playing sfv with ae, and thus far Ed seems to the character whose execution is kindest to my analog sticks. His ability to counter is top notch as well.
Awesome video! I've been playing SFV a LOT more since Ed came out. Wish i'd found this guide sooner. Had to spend a lot of time with training as well as watching Poongko's matches with Ed.
@@KiDn0cuDi No it is a V-Reversal, which costs one full bar of your V Meter. All characters in the game have one, in Ed's case it is performed by pressing forward + all three kick buttons at the same time while you're in the middle of blocking an attack. It is a purely defensive option meant to get you out of a high-pressure situation.
No problem! He has a very unique control scheme compared to the rest of the cast though, you might want to also give someone like Ryu a try. Ed is really fun though!
Really like the video, I try Ed when he came out but stop after I couldn't make him work for me. It was really sad to miss an upper cuts because of push back and have his V trigger negated against many other moves
It is done by inputting two quarter-circle motions to the right (from down to forward) followed by a punch button. You need full CA gauge in order to do it - here's Ed's full movelist: www.eventhubs.com/moves/sf5/ed/move/super-v-trigger-v-skill/critical-art/
Thanks! I'll be doing a followup to this video once the balance patch hits on Tuesday, there are some substantial changes to Ed that have made some new stuff viable (c.MK xx Upper works at range now!)
So what exactly changes when using the different punches for Psycho Shot? It looks like it doesn't do any more damage depending on the button you go with. Is it just for more knock back?
It changes the speed of the projectile. For most (if not all) projectile attacks, the strength of the button you use only affects the speed of the attack, not the power
Does anyone have a written list with his combos? I just bought the game but what's happening on screen is going too fast for me. I need to try them myself so I can get my head wrapped around it.
If you're new, leave combos for later, just get familiar with special, offense/defense and basic combos (hold HP -> KK -> P or PP->CA). Try challenges, they'll help to wrap your mind around how his combos are supposed to be, you'll also learn how cancelling works in this game (e. g. uppercut into super won't ever work even if you'll input PP df df P, you have to do df PP df P)
It means that your opponent will recover two frames of animation faster than you do. Here's a more in-depth explanation from my SFV Intro Guide - ua-cam.com/video/27DmzOk9Yco/v-deo.html
Sorry I'm a little confused, are you asking how you can link a s.MK into c.HP? That's impossible. His s.MP leaves you at +9 though, so c.HP can link after that since its startup is 8 frames.
Thanks for helping this video reach 10k views!
Has the dopest theme in the game
Let’s see ya dance

What about Birdie? He's both.
@Prashanth Panicker tekken has quite the variety actually
@@Crazybark not with the girls though, all of them are doll faced pretty girls. Even the grandma
Like it SHOULD BE in fightworld

One of the best guide ive seen
Thanks!
Only recently picked up SF5 and I'm loving Ed. Thanks for this great guide ^_^
I legit love these series, actual helpful guides. Have a sub for this!
3 years old and I still learned stuff from this video.
Awesome video! I've been playing SFV a LOT more since Ed came out. Wish i'd found this guide sooner. Had to spend a lot of time with training as well as watching Poongko's matches with Ed.
Thanks! Couldn't have found it much sooner, it's just a day old - any other characters you'd like to see?
GLHFtv Probably Urien.
An Ed tutorial that's 10 minutes plus?? Automatic "like"!
Thanks!
VERY VERY VERY VERY GOOOD GUIDE
I knew he wasn't going to mention the kill step. That's why I came here. That's the only thing I need to figure out to perfect my use of ed.
Is there something confusing about it? It's simply Ed's V-Reversal
@@GLHFtv I don't know how to do that. Is that V trigger or something?

Glad to be of help.
Just bought the game and decided to main him. Thanks for the vid

Nice guide, thank you!
Glad it helped!
Really good video. Thanks
Nice video! Il send this to my friend who wants to play ed!
Thank you! Please do share, that's entirely why I love making guides like this.
Fantastic guide would have been nice to include some bnbs though :)

AWESOME guide! Keep up the great work!

Thumbs Up! this is what i need. brief explanation bro keep up
Glad to help, but I just want to note that this guide is a bit older now - make sure you check out videos regarding his recent updates
@@GLHFtv ohh just started using him today. he's like bison version. well gonna check it out
@@rosareunitez5913 He's a great character to start with due to his simple inputs, but he has some moderately complex combos
@@GLHFtv yeah am training the character as we speak, i try following your tutorial, and there's a new update? where can i check it thanks

I just got destroyed by an Ed with a 24 win streak. The guy was everywhere and decided to give it a try
I don't use Ed as often as I used to but he's still a very fun character to mess around with. His unique inputs set him apart.
Nice video, been having a lot of fun with Ed!
He is really fun. Relies a little bit TOO much on being at point blank range, but he's still a blast to play.
i've lost about 30 with Ed. I'll report back soon after using this guide lol
18 and 24 after a few days with the guide. Bette than 0 and 30
not a bad replacement for gen i gotta say.
Fun fact: EX pycho uppet can be permormed by 1 button by pressing L1 if on a ps4 controller
That's because it's all three punches. :)
How much of this is valid today?

Wyts only because people don’t know how to use him ...
He is a very good character
What do you guys mean by "negative 2"?
It means that your opponent will recover two frames of animation faster than you do. Here's a more in-depth explanation from my SFV Intro Guide - ua-cam.com/video/27DmzOk9Yco/v-deo.html
so what does it mean to be +3 or -3 or a "confirm". I am somewhat new to street fighter and am oblivious to the more in depth "things"
I did a whole video explaining just this subject, you can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/27DmzOk9Yco/v-deo.html
in a nutshell, plus is safe. - is punishable. depending on the move of course.
I dont understand? How does ed's crouching medium kick link with phsyco upper is upper has 16 start up frames? And crouching medium kick is +1 on hit?
It's +1 on hit if you do nothing at all afterwards. You're canceling into the special move
GLHFtv what about his real combos his standing mk. Is 4 frames on hit and crouching hard punch is 8 frames start up.? How do they connect
Sorry I'm a little confused, are you asking how you can link a s.MK into c.HP? That's impossible. His s.MP leaves you at +9 though, so c.HP can link after that since its startup is 8 frames.
GLHFtv how much frames does a crossup give you?
Boruto Uzumaki hard to say, it all depends on when you hit the opponent
