Few updates in Epic Gardening Universe: Jacques is launching his own YT channel covering low-cost, DIY garden projects, sustainability, and garden to kitchen recipes: bit.ly/39pv6ex
Secondly, to the thousands of you waiting on Birdies beds, we are dealing with insane port delays (not seen in 30+ years) so we are backed up without the ability to control it. I'm estimating a mid October fulfillment, after which point we'll FINALLY be in stock on everything!
Can't wait for Jacques' videos! Loved seeing y'all go garden center shopping together!!
Cucmber watermelon juice with a squeeze if lime over ice.
For your watermelon, of course add Vodka!
Watermelon Basil popsicle
Loofah me please!
Strong work mate 💪👍🙂
My main mate!
2 legends on a thread!
Happy to see so many garden channels supportingnone another. ♡ Love you guys.
Happy Spring to you sir!
Colab, please!!
Let's go boys, 2 of my favorites
Let's Gooo! Epic harvest bro, you're just missing a garden pup to help out ❤️
I was just about to say the thumbnail is very Prigioni-esque then I hear Kevin reference your channel lol. Great content from both of you guys!
You guys need to tour each other's gardens!
@@petekooshian5595 we would totally watch that!
Great idea, but I think Kevin might need a garden gato, as that'll help with any rodents in the hen house!
I didn’t even know you can grow loofah! Add that to the very long list “Things Kevin has taught me about gardening.”
I love James Prigioni’s harvests. I mean, who could resist his energy and Tuck is the garden King 👑
haha a James Prigioni style harvest! you guys are both such inspirations, cant wait to be rocking those massive harvest one day!
Love when my favorite UA-camrs know each other!
Cannot wait to see it man! Huge fan as you know
@@StittApril same!
I've learned so much just watching you! Would love to have a loofah!
A collab between you two would be EPIC
I laughed so hard when Jacque puff into the video. Very creative and fun! 🤣
If you take the pulp of a watermelon, minus the seeds, put it in a blender with some lime juice. That’s it. Maybe just a little dash of salt. It makes it very refreshing drink!
Ooooooooo!!! EPIC SHOWER SOAP BAR! SIGN ME UP! 🎉❤️🙌🏻
You have helped me grow a full container garden that MAJORLY offsets the rising cost of food during inflation, and I have passed the knowledge AND your channels along to at least 10 others families!! 🙌🏻 Working your way to teaching 10 million for sure! Thank you for such incredibly wonderful content.
I would love to see a series on meals you’ve made (almost) only out of things you’ve grown. Idk why but the sunflower video made me think of it.
For SURE
@@epicgardening You could try candied watermelon rind. My mom used to eat that as a kid.
Between you, James, MIGardner and a few others - hadn't it been for you guys weekly inspiring videos, I would still be killing my peppers with heat and cooking my worms with peat. haha.... that rhymed. Hats off to you all.
That's what I love to hear Andrea
Saaaame!
I just wanna say whoever did the color grading on the video did an amazing job. All the colors really pop onscreen, I want to touch every plant.
I love your videos so much Kevin! I’m a 20 year old college student who is trying to garden as much as I can! I hope you are enjoying everything you have built for yourself with this garden and channel and are as happy as your videos make me and are as happy as you seem in your videos! Be good man and good luck with the remaining harvests! Can’t wait to see!
I love James Prigiony and Tuck! I love his harvest videos and his enthusiasm because they give me hope and excitement for gardening. And of course so do your videos😉
He's fantastic!
I love James and Tuck too
When Jacques the garden hermit appears it is quite magical 😂 nice harvest!
My wife and I started a front yard garden after following you on TikTok! Your tips and information have really helped us to make something sustainable in Oklahoma. Thank you!!!
luffa sponge for viewers?! best thing ever. something from your garden for your fans. liked btw...
I could use some soapy loofah!
Also, the Spooky Season is nearly upon us. Kevin's habit of just APPEARING from behind things should suit the next few videos! ;)
My favorite part of Kevin's videos is figuring out where he is going to pop out from!
That intro for Jacques was amazing and I hope it's not the last time he's summoned this way. Also commenting for one of those sweet loofafas.
I've enjoyed watching you grow the gardens at the Epic homestead! Who doesn't love a Prigioni style harvest video!? 😊
Found you while I was obsessing about house plants, and planted my first outdoor garden ever this year thanks to you and a small handful of other UA-cam professors. Thank you, thank you!
YW Sarah!
I love Tuck on James’s channel. It’s so funny how he’s always munching on something 🤣🐾 Kevin should consider a homestead dog too! Looking forward to seeing chickens roaming around at least.
I need to get one!!!
42 varieties of peppers! That's amazing - definitely enjoyed this style video and nice to hear the shoutout to James Prigioni! You guys rock!
Please consider sharing your harvest with those who are hungry in your community 💜
Both you and James are the reason I planted a garden for the past two years. I definitely am learning from my mistakes, but I have my successes too!
Seeing what you've managed to do this year, in only one year, has been massively impressive and inspirational. And honestly, it gives me hope. I just moved to an entirely new climate late this summer, and am feeling confident about my ability to start a proper vegetable garden this autumn thanks to everything I've learned from your channel (among others like James and Mark).
And congratulations on the new loofah, you got such an epic yield off of that relatively small plant! I didn't realize how many those could grow in that small of a space.
Means a lot to hear this - you got this Serena!
I just loved the Kevin’s foot on the side of the planter trying to yank out the ginger. LOL! It fought back!
Loved the transition with Jacques 🤣😂
I love the pop up and pop in❗🤣 y'all getting so fancy! Amazing Harvest
Watermelon recipe- I cut up a huge watermelon in chunks, freeze them and use it as a base for smoothies.
Frozen watermelon, strawberries, mint, avocado, juice, blend or substitute the juice with coconut milk.
It is such a satisfying & rewarding feeling harvesting a vegetable you've grown from seed. Awesome harvest
James is so fun to watch, so great to hear a shout-out to him. You two DEFINITELY need to do a vid together! Also, would ABSOLUTELY love to see the pepper eating vid! Oh, and LOVED the Garden Hermit entrance! 😁 As for the watermelon & peppers, isn't that what you got your freeze dryer for?! 😉😉 Freeze dried watermelon is AWESOME!! 😁 You can also blend it to make into fruit leather/roll-ups, grill it & drizzle it with Balsamic Vinegar, freeze it for ice cubes, etc. With the freeze dried peppers, you can add them to soups, grind then into a powder, make pepper chips, etc.
While my garden didn't do as well as I wanted, I grew for the first time: garlic, strawberries, pumpkin, potatoes, green beans, zucchini, carrots, radishes, spinach, sweet potatoes (which I will harvest within the next week or 2), birdhouse gourds & LUFFAS!!! 😁 Still have some time before I can harvest them, but SOOO excited!! 😁 Also about time to plant garlic again for next spring. Can't WAIT! 😁
Keep up the great videos! You've truly been an inspiration. 🌱👍
I have fallen in love with Dahlias this year too!!! Love the bi colored ones. The blooms were just continuous. Mine just now have stopped because we are getting into COLD nights here in the Northeast.
Epic gardening, James Prigioni, MI gardener, Self Sufficent me. My favorite / most trusted garden Vlogers. Thanks for the inspiration gentlemen🙏🏽
Don’t forget Brian at Next Level Gardening!
Impressive garden. Everything is growing so nice, but you need a Tuck like James. He is the cutest and funniest dog that loves to eat his vegetables and he picks his own too. I watch you and James every chance I get. You guys are so knowledgeable it gives all of us confidence to go out and grow our gardens.

The ginger video is how I found you a couple weeks ago and I’ve been obsessed with your videos ever since!! So glad I came upon that video and you🙌🏼
Beauty is in the eye of the garden. I love seeing all the beautiful growth in your garden! It is very inspiring to know that the space I have can be used to create growth. So happy for your expansion!
What a great harvest! I just started my very first plants this past year and we're harvesting just a handful of tomatoes and peppers. It's really encouraging to think of how much we'll be harvesting in years to come with more experience and know-how! ❤️🥳
I like how fast you work and talk! No wasted time, mountains of information. I grew potatoes following your video-perfect harvest, some still in the ground. Thank you.
Jacques gets a channel!? Yay!!!! You go Mr. Garden hermit!
I love all the knowledge you "bestow" on us. I grow a few things on my balcony and next year hope to have an actual garden to grow in!
I can’t wait to have my own garden so that I can put all the things I’ve learned from you to use!
came for the loofah, stayed for the lovely purple corn
This year was my first time gardening and this channel has been a massive help. Next years garden will be epic!
I’m so glad that you’ve gotten into flowers too. I love dahlias and am trying them for the first time myself at the moment!
Keep doing what your doing!!
A great way to use up watermelon is to give it a quick char on the grill and then cut it up and serve as a salad with some feta cheese and balsamic dressing. It sounds strange but tastes great
Watermelon ideas: Dehydrated watermelon is a great snack!
Seeing this has me so excited to start my own garden. I’ve been learning to much watching your videos and can’t wait to start cooking with things I’ve grown myself!
You got this!
Nice Luffa's. This year was my first year growing luffa's and I've been experimenting with the right harvest time. Overall though lots of fun. They like our hot summers and didn't mind my native alkaline soil which is a big plus. I planted it along with my Jamaica/Hibiscus which also likes the heat and so far is doing well also in the native soil. A fun experiment.
We love you, and we love James. We are very blessed to have you both.
I've been cultivating that like button for several years. I came for the indoor house plant tips years ago and stayed for the Epic transformation of you, your channel and your outdoor garden! You get a loofah, YOU get a loofah, U get a loofah!!
Vandross.
Let’s see the mild to hot pepper eating contest! Looking forward to checking out how you are going to preserve your harvest
Watermelon freezes very well. Cut into chunks and freeze on a cookie sheet then put in a zip lock bag. I use them to make a delicious refreshing drink with lemons and limes mint and ice
Watermelon salad with arugula, water cress, any other greens or micro greens you would like to add, and balsamic vinaigrette! I’ve been eating it for months with all the watermelon we got this year. It’s a really nice
I used to only get hyped over vegetable harvest hauls, but I’ve come to appreciate flowers so much more this summer! They’re great for our pollinator friends and look beautiful in the garden or in a bouquet.
NICE HAUL!!!
How about watermelon fries??
1 small watermelon, cut into fries
Zest from 1 lime
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/2 to 1 teaspoon chili powder
Arrange the watermelon fries on a plate or platter. Add the lime zest, juice, and chili powder. Serve immediately.
What I did with watermelon one year was cut it up into about 1-2" squares and popped a gallon bag of them into the freezer. . You can always either pull some out to eat, or can bring them out to thaw and make a watermelon juice with them. . OR. . watermelon jam :) Good luck~ !
Your raised beds are awesome. It's nice to see something taller so you don't have to bend over too much. Those luffas look amazing!!
Diced watermelon from the freezer instead of ice for frozen beverages.. best margaritas ever.
If you do eat the super spicy ones, you should try showing a recipe you'd use them in! Most people wouldnt really be growing a variety of hot peppers to do Fear Factor-esque challenges, so maybe showing some possibilities might get people to hop on the pepper train!
You appearing from behind a raised bed is my spirit animal.
Jaques appears, "You're a wizard Kevin..."
Seriously, thank you for the fun and calming video, love the updates!❤
Harvest days are the best days. Love your channels. Grow bags got me into gardening!
Amazing harvest :) ! The dream to have a fridge filled with produce you grow yourself in the garden.
Kevin! You’ve made gardening and homesteading feel so accessible to me, an absolute beginner! Wish me luck, I’m going to try to grow my first vegetables this fall!
Yes! I am subscribed to you, James and Laura at Garden Answer. I'll also watch the Millenial Gardner. I love all of you, you all have your unique styles!!! Former SD resident, way back probably before you were born! Thanks for your great content.
I'm so down to see the Epic Gardening Jacques & Kevin version of Hot Ones!!
42 varieties of peppers?! That's amazing! Thanks for the big harvest video, Kevin.
loofa ur fav sub from south africa. ur gardening vids saved my life from depression, thanks for the motivation to get back into the garden
You have the most beautiful garden. An inspiration to gardeners that don't have acres of land. I didn't know that loofahs come from plants. Will have to watch your loofah video. And yes, we want a video of you eating your hot peppers.
I decided to start a container garden in May. Then, we had nearly a month of huge rainstorms here in Houston. Add to that, wild animals and my garden was down from 18 plants to two. A tomato and a watermelon. I was seriously about to just give up, but your videos have inspired me to give it another try this fall. I spent yesterday planting and i feel so hopeful. Thank you for taking the time to educate and entertain.
Commenting for that loofah, baby! Also, because I love your stuff. Great harvest, brother!
a tip for the poblanos, let them get red and then sun dry them, this way you will get a pepper known as chile ancho, which has a completely different taste than a poblano, and it is used to add color and a subtle taste to salsas, stews, and soups in traditional Mexican cuisine.
Been following for a while.. I would love to put my heart and soul into sustainable gardening. But every year, the winter takes such a mental toll on me, that it takes most of the year to pull myself together. By August and September it feels to late to start any type of garden. Then fall and winter hit. It's a cycle, but im working on it!! 💚 can't wait to have my own sustainable homestead!
You really did have an epic harvest! I got such a kick out of you and Jacques trying to pull out the ginger from the planter, LOL. I am also pleased to see that you are embracing flowers in your garden. They are good for the pollinators and good for the soul. Would love to have one of your loofah giveaways to use for a home spa day! :)
I like the scene at the end of the video with the end of daylight and your harvest piled up. Great content!
Oh yes James Prigioni is awesome for sure, enjoy you both!
I am a new lockdown gardener and am finally venturing into edible gardening. Will be picking a few items off your Fall crop list to try. Thank you, Kevin, for inspiring me to grow my green thumb!
Hey Kevin...if you make the soap with the loofa and leave the seeds in it... that's a double gift!!! Isn't it?? 😉👍
Hope to be one of the lucky recipients of it. Blessings your way ❤️🙏🍀
Love the shoutout to James. His channel is awesome.
Watermelon soup, watermelon salad and then make pickles out of the rind!
Love watching your channel. You inspired me to grow a garden for the first time ever. I learned a lot, made a lot of mistakes, and loved eating my harvest. I hooked up my health care professional who helps me with my diabetes with your channel. Thanks.
I would love to see you try your peppers! I love the First We Feast group that does the Hot Ones interviews and it would be really fun to see what kind of spice you grew this year!
I think it'd be awesome if you did a video about how to potentially save some seeds and stuff, how to let them go to seed, how to winter over, and then how to start them in the spring to save money, would love to learn more
Love watching and learning from your successes, failures and the Garden Hermit is a great partner (or… super hero sidekick).
Can’t wait to see what next year is going to look like for the homestead!
Member of the ginger subscribers here!!! Wanted to know if it was possible to do at home and ended up finding so much garden inspiration! Keep up the great work!
Yes the ginger was the first one I watched and then I became addicted.
I love James Prigioni!!! He's so amazing!!! I also love his dog Tuck!!! Good video
Love to watch James & little Tuckmeister too!!! Started back to work a few weeks ago after being laid off for a year because of Covid. You guys kept me going & put me in my garden whether it be actually outside or starting seedlings inside. That's for keeping me sane!!! Oh by the way didn't know loofahs grew on trees!!! 😂
Young ginger leaf it's good eat too.
You're crushing it, Kevin! 😎 Thank you for sharing your epic gardening journey. Cheering from the Philippines!🇵🇭
I love that you always pop out of the plants! I listen at work and it is very informative and relaxing to listen to you talk about plants.
It's true I found your channel from the ginger video and I've been hooked ever since! My fav watermelon recipe is mix fresh watermelon, frozen watermelon, mint or basil, lime juice and tequila in a blender. Thats it. The most refreshing summer cocktail you will ever drink
I started ginger this year because of your video. It's just getting going and I can hardly wait to see how much it yields next year!
I love making watermelon basil agua frescas. Just four ingredients - watermelon, coconut water, lime juice, and basil - blend it up and drink (strain if you want to). No need to sweeten, it's so good by itself. SUPER refreshing.
Your gardening Channel has inspired me to grow my own garden and one day I hope to be a self sufficient grower! Thank you so much for your educational videos and congratulations on a beautiful harvest!
So glad you did so well in your first full year there. Can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
Speaking of full circle, your ginger video was the first I watched on your channel, and I'm waiting for my final fall harvest as well. When I had no hobbies during the shut down, your channel really saved me. Can't wait for next year. I've learned a lot about what I enjoy eating, and the joy of eating veggies from your own garden. It's so rewarding. Thanks for all the work you put into your channel. Everyone watching can truly tell how passionate you are.
oh my goodness loofah soap sign me the HECK up.
Kevin, you helped me save my tomatos with your videos, advice and made it fun doing it, thank you for helping me grow a wonderful crop!!
So happy to have found your channel. We are San Diego natives and started out garden in planter boxes. Love seeing what you plant and harvest
