    Like you I mainly would want a computer for navigation. So loading and using routes in a easy way and it’s also important that it can re route during a ride if you need to adjust route mid ride. Due to construction, or a road you didn’t like the quality of, or amount of traffic on it. Seeing a route made and loaded on device with even a video showing it being used to navigate would be very helpful. Look forward to seeing the long term review. Been trying to pick between Garmin and wahoo for a while. But they are so expensive. This is cheaper than the used prices of the other two. Also the solar option is a amazing feature!

    I love the idea of having a separate computer to download all my data. Something that's easy to use and read and long battery life. I'd rather keep my phone for emergency use on long rides and not have to worry about draining that battery or carrying around an external power block. Love your videos and look forward to seeing more reviews such as this. Cheers from Montreal Canada 🇨🇦🤗

      Hi Sherry! Thank you for the lovely comment and sharing your thoughts. I'm with you on the benefits of having a dedicated bike computer. Phones and phone apps have come a long way but there are still good reasons to have one (especially if your phone isn't waterproof!).

    I think you did a really solid review> Look forward to the more detailed one, but who knows I may have won one by then.
    Always seeing and listing to you in any case. Is that funny black thin I see your mic?

    I can see the attraction of adding this on to ones kit, and the long battery life is very cool too. I think it sounds like it is much let down by the lack proper mapping features, so for a long term stand alone item it is a bit poor. Maybe, for those folks that have a battery powered bike, there could be some recharge capability? Look forwards to your long term review to get a better picture. :)

    If TRIMM ONE can be very simple, fast at uploading routes from the phone, from any of the great navigation apps already available, have really good easy to follow turn by turn on large screen to be say to see and a long battery life then it’s a winner for me at the price point. Knowing that I am 0.01% faster or slower than yesterday isn’t a priority, I am not a top ten athlete.

    Can you say something about regular software updates during the past 4 month, which maybe brought new features to the device, solved bugs or improved the performance?

    Good review. No street names is a big negative and I don’t recall hearing about that on other reviews
    1. Text messages displayed?
    2. Varia Radar support? This is a deal breaker for me.
    3. Might be nice to see more detail on data screen layout as it appears different from a standard grid?
    Thanks.

    • @OneLessCar
      @OneLessCar  4 роки тому

      I'll be sure to have more detailed shots of the display in the long term review. No street names could be a real problem for navigation in built up areas I fear. Good news is I had a software update yesterday with some nice improvements in other areas so there is hope 🤞
      You can only see who's texted not the message (annoyingly). It works with different messaging apps so I need to test if that's the case for the others.
      I'll inquire about the Varia support.

    Hi sure this is a stupid question but how do you stop you ride on the trimm as I tried to use the left hand button and that said it was the lap button? Do I have to stop it on the phone? I can’t find the answer. Grateful for any advise. Thank you ☺️

    • @OneLessCar
      @OneLessCar  4 роки тому

      To finish a ride it's a two step process First use the right side button to pause the ride. Doing this will turn the left button into the stop button. So you can then press stop, the left button 😀
      Hope that helps!

    I think combining a speed sensor to reduce the number of GPS readings and extend battery life is a good one. But it should be squarely aimed at undercutting Garmin and others on price. If it were $199 USD (direct to consumer) with the mount and one sensor, I think it would be competitive, because of its good display and excellent battery life. As for software, it is probably not as developed and might be better to just rely on a strong integration with Strava and Komoot, rather than trying to reinvent their own portal, like Polar did. I see this is a riding device, not so much as a training one, to use with structured workouts. I see how it could be a preferred model for Audax riders because of its battery recharging capabilities and display. I would like to see how users like yourself find it works with Komoot and Strava. As for the erratic battery levels, I think this is normal. Li-ion batteries do not discharge in a linear fashion. All that matters is whether the total run time is acceptable.

    will using Wahoo speed sensor instead of its proprietary speed sensor maintains the claimed 50 hours of running time? Cheers!

    It would be nice to have the solar panel with an adapter for Bryton/Garmin devices.

    • @OneLessCar
      @OneLessCar  4 роки тому +1

      It would be handy. I suspect they'd sell a lot of them.

  • @Ed.R
    @Ed.R 4 роки тому

    I'm not sure I'd buy one for that price considering it seems a little unfinished as a product. Someone has clearly messed up on the battery percentage algorithm.
    However the solar charger is a really cool idea and seems like it actually works. Although I think they really missed a great opportunity by not integrating it into the black area around the screen. If it can hold the charge on an overcast day who wouldn't want it there permanently. Just not liking the extra little panel and it's connector. Or even better a transparent solar cell over the entire screen if they become efficient enough.

    • @Ed.R
      @Ed.R 4 роки тому

      Just occurred to me the battery percentage issue could be a sign they are discharging it rather to deeply. Not a great idea although it will get extra run time in the short term it will lead to faster battery capacity loss.

    It’s a good idea but lacks stuff as a 1st gen Kickstarter
    I’d bet and know it lacks a lot of things just now but it could be a one for later.
    One thing that is really bull is that it bills itself as solar powered but isn’t without the add on charger
    Plus no komoot etc just now means I’ll stick with wahoo

    • @OneLessCar
      @OneLessCar  4 роки тому

      I suspect integration with other apps will come along with software updates, so that's less of a concern. You can sync your strava to your Komoot (which doesn't offer privacy settings annyoingly). One to watch for sure.

    So the only device with full support for maps is Garmin 1030?

    • @OneLessCar
      @OneLessCar  4 роки тому

      Other garmins have full map support too (my husband older model does). I don't know about Wahoo haven't had a chance to check out their latest offering yet. I know with some of the previous models there was a reliance on the phone for information. Garmin can do POI, gas stations, accomodation, reroute, etc all with just the device only and no data connection. For bike touring and other long distance rides it's a real lifesaver. Not that it always gets the best route at least you know you will get where you need to.

    Can the solar powered charger be used to charge other bike computers as well?

    • @OneLessCar
      @OneLessCar  4 роки тому

      Sadly no, it uses a proprietary plug.
