My mother (90) passed away at april 25th 2020 after a long and heavy struggle against cancer. She was always very impressed by this song . It will be played at her funeral at the end of this week. I pray for her and hope we will meet again.

Ich komme gerade aus taize zurück und dieses Lied ist eines der schönsten. Die kraft die taize einem schenkt ist unglaublich, schön zu sehen, dass es noch so viele jugendliche gibt, die an gott und jesus glauben und Nächstenliebe und Frieden verbreiten
Letzter Jahreswechsel habe ich am Taize-Jugendtreffen in Prag teilgenommen und dortzulande einige freundliche und großartige Leute, darunter auch viele aufrichtige und herzliche Deutsche kennengelernt. Gott ist die Liebe - jetzt verstehe ich diese Ausage. Grüsse aus Polen!

But if the world was created by chance, why would it have beauty in it? Beauty presupposes order and order presupposes intelligence. Besides that why are we able to perceive beauty? I agree we are human that is why we love beautiful things because we are created to contemplate the beautiful things once created.
Zu Taizé muss ich sagen: am Anfang hatte ich wirklich Zweifel ob mir das alles so gefallen wird mit diesem ganzen Zelten etc. Ich bin auch "damals" (vor 1 Jahr) nur gefahren weil meine Freunde mich dazu überredet haben mit ihrer Firmgruppe dahin zu fahren. Und dann waren wir da; nach 6 Stunden Autofahrt und allein diese Atmosphäre wenn man ankommt, die Leute, die man noch nie gesehen hat, einem zulächeln und willkommen geheißen hat: einfach unbeschreiblich wunderbar. Man kann durch die Straßen gehen und einfach irgendjemanden umarmen und die Leute machen mit und man lernt Leute kennen. Ich hab zum Beispiel zu einigen bis heute Kontakt und wir haben es sogar so ausgemacht, dass wir alle gleichzeitig fahren, damit wir uns wieder sehen. Das erstemal in dieser 'Jugendbibelstunde' wurde ich aufgerufen, etwas vorzulesen und 1 Woche später kannte immernoch jeder meinen Namen und es wae sooo lustig. Am Anfang, muss ich sagen, kamen mir diese Stillzeiten während den Gebetsrunden ewig lang vor und ich hab nie zugehört, was erzählt wurde und die Lieder hab ich auch nur mitgenuschelt. Doch am Ende hab ich mich gefreut wie ein Welpe auf die Stillzeiten weil man einfach so perfekt in sich kehren kann und die Chance hat über Dinge nachzudenken, an die man in seinem Alltag nie denkt. Außerdem wollte ich nicht einmal mehr eine Gebetsrunde ausfallen lassen und bin sogar zu zusätzlichen Proben und Vorbereitungsrunden gegangen. Am Ende wollten wir garnicht mehr weg weil es so unglaublich schön war! Und ich bin echt nicht der große Kirchengänger oder eine dieser Leute, die jedem sagen, sie müssten in die Kirche, aber Taizé ist einfach unbeschreiblich! Ich kann nur sagen: ihr müsst es mal erlebt haben, um meine Begeisterung zu verstehen...und ich hoffe sehr ich wollt sie verstehen! :) Und ich han sooo vieles garnicht erwähnt... Fazit: In Taizé kann man einfach mal das tun, wozu man Lust und Laune hat und muss keinem gesellschaftlichen Druck standhalten. Man lernt die nettesten und offensten Leute auf eine ungewöhnliche Art und Weise kennen.
Das Wichtigste ist, daß sie einem davon erzählen, daß man den Herrn Jesus als persönlichen Retter und Heiland braucht; sie machen wirklich deutlich, was die Liebe Jesu im Leben eines gläubigen Christen bewirken kann...

It is simply amazing how God/the Holy Spirit/Higher Power can speak through this music. What a blessing. I am so grateful to be listening to it now and to have led my church in singing it last Sunday for the fist time. I always find peace as I listen and/or sing. I am at the library now...so I can't really sing. ;)
