Great advice and analogies to aid in setting the guitarist's role for comping and soloing ! We all need these reminders - make the solist sound great (including yourself if soloing)!
not entirely true , yes playing to tunes is good but time on scales is a great practice too . both are important, but it is true that when you practice practicing your performance is a display of how you practice. so it is important to practice performing . but knowing the theory ,scales , chords in a key ,,, all are essential skills , practice them all
It's very important to practice the language,,scales and theory are just like the dictionary and grammar they are important but soon you need to dive deep in the "speaking"
Awesome analogy thank you teacher Mark
I enjoy using analogies! You're welcome :)
This is great advice! Thanks Marc!
