I really hope Taylor has heard this. She’s a fantastic song writer but the care that Something For Kate have put into the reconstruction of this song is incredible.

Couldn't agree more! I saw him at a small acoustic show a couple years back. His voice in a small room, magnificent.
The story goes that he was talked into doing some singing and filling in for something kate many years ago. He didn’t want to do it and even took some singing lessons. Aren’t we all so glad that he gave it a go. What an amazing voice. What an amazing band.

This has to be my favorite cover of a Taylor Swift song… like ever.
I honestly thought that the folklore and evermore (aka folkmore) era of Taylor's career reminded me of SFK. I can honestly hear Paul and Co singing almost every song on those two albums. I love this cover so much but would have died if Paul and Olympia had covered Exile.

Absolutely brilliant, beautiful and more words that I just don't have. As a fan of the 90's and grunge I have to admit TS is a genius song writer, so much respect her way. SFK made me remember that. Best cover ever imho.
They've taken an already sad song, and laced it with an air of frustration and anger that just makes it so much sadder. This is beautiful 🥰

So I'm too old for T. Swift but a big SFK fan. When I first heard this I thought it was another brilliant SFK tune (high praise indeed) so my mind was totally blown to learn it was by Ms Swift. I've since come to realise that she has grown up to be an exceptional songwriter.

I know I’m 6 months late to this but I also thought I was too old for T Swift. You need to listen to her Folklore & Evermore albums. They get zero radio play, but Cardigan is just a taste of her great low tempo non-pop songs.
I remember reading a UA-cam comment on either a Paul Dempsey or something for Kate song that has stuck with me for years. It said "Paul Dempsey is sinfully underrated"

i usually never like covers of taylor swift songs, only the originals, but this is so amazing and now it makes me wanna see taylor perform a rock version of cardigan on tour… imagine taylor singing this to a crowd of 60k people with lots of drums and electric guitars and flashing lights…. my lotd
