    I remember the 90's. My fondest memories of it include SNES and Game Boy. My favorite SNES game was The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and I would speed-run that shit before I knew speed-running was a thing, because the battery in it died, keeping me from saving it, and we had to turn off all game systems before going to bed, giving me limited time to start the game from the beginning and beat Ganon before bedtime. My favorite Game Boy game was Pokemon: Red Version and I always picked bulbasaur, which, at the time, I saw as "objectively" the best, even though I've since found out that bulbasaur was, at the time, actually objectively the best.

  • @phoenixdaronco9540
    @phoenixdaronco9540 2 роки тому +1

    To be fair, I'm sure there were many colorful 80's folks who understood the political climate and what was happening in the world. Many 80's songs would reflect events like Ronald Reagan's discussion with Russia ("Ronnie Talk to Russia" by Prince), the toxicity of some people including Reagan ("Survivin' in the 80's" by André Cymone), the ongoing issue of humans fighting over each other and hurting the world in the process ("Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears,) and trying to enjoy life in the midst of the Cold War ("Forever Young" by Alphaville. I appreciate the message this video was bringing to the table, and while I understand that the 80's was not all "cupcakes and rainbows", I'm sure the "cupcakes and rainbows" aspect of the 80's is given the most attention because this was what people did to clear their mind of the negative stuff that was happening around them, like a comfort place to take a break, a Heaven on Earth. Even now we're dealing with so much negativity in the world, so we need a Heaven on Earth to stay sane.
