Your instructions were fantastic!!! My top was in place but the flippers and truck were stuck open. I followed the steps but I am not able to open the trunk lid afterwards however and reattach the two trunk drive cylinders.
Can this be used to manually reprogram or relearn the sequence? I think my main issue now after finally getting my roof to close is operating the parcel, and knowing the correct timing on when to try and use the automatic open and close button. After following instructions in the opening video I was able to unlatch the roof and press the button it get it working again. Currently trying to close it, gonna put the bolts and stuff back as well as the trim and then try the sequence again. I'll give updates. I wish you worked with the parcel instead of just taking it off. all in all very useful videos!!
I am worried about changing the cabin filter in my G37...pretty sure if I attempted this it would never be right again LOL! Interesting though. Watching also made me realize I need to pray even harder when I operate the roof😅
I just ordered new flapper gears. Only issue thus far. Well okay, busted out my rear window letting it down with a floor jack in the top storage space.
My trunk is stuck open with the roof completely up and secured. It’s stuck in the position where the trunk is supposed to close. I have been able to remove the cylinders that hold the trunk up and let it drop down but it won’t latch closed like yours did. I think there’s a few peices not in position yet. For example I have the parcel peice (whatever that flat cover behind the rear seats is called) down on the trunk floor stuck in that stage, like some things are not in place for trunk to get closed securely. Any opinions?
WARNING: Exclusively following this procedure will damage your hydraulics. The convertible top arm’s lowest joint on either side is blocked by the shaft of the main lift cylinder which will either dent or bend if you do what he does in the video.
Thanks for your comment. Obviously, that is a very important to know. When we made the video, I believe we originally took the cylinder out at first and then thought we had an easier way to get it done by disconnecting the shaft only. Too bad we didn't notice what you are pointing out. Oddly, some customers have manually closed the top successfully without damage. I wonder if they deviated from our procedure at this point. You are obviously not posting this to knock us, but because you want to be helpful. Maybe you could help fellow G37 owners some more by letting us all know what happens if one retracts the shafts on both cylinders after the rod ends have been disconnected?
@@TopHydraulics No, not dinging you. Think I was close to bending the shafts before I realized what was going on. What I really could use is the pin-out for the white connector so I don't end up doing more damage when trying to figure out how the pin arrangement vs the actuators for the top.
Just to be clear, the main cylinder needs disconnecting at both ends. Just the same as the front end by removing the clip and pushing out the pin. Then make sure you have released the hydraulic pressure and pushed the rod back before closing the roof completely.
At 20:26, the frame lock step. When I open one the other one closes. Maybe its residual hydraulic pressure? I’ve tried this step multiple times with the same result. Any suggestions?
Hello I have a problem when I open the ceiling it remains hanging and the box appears on the screen open Convertible Top,Only when opened it gets stuck in the middle and it appears that i must open the small box for the space, knowing that it is open , and then i must turn off the car , start it again and then close it. and I want to solve the problem. Before that, one day I opened the roof and there was no problem. When I drove the car quickly, a notification appeared on the screen with an alert sound that the roof was not fully open, even though it was fully open. I want to solve the problem. That's a tricky situation and I don't have the answer for you. Do you know why the trunk is stuck shut? Most brands have a manual trunk lock that can be unlatched with a blade key in the key fob, but I don't know if this applies to the G37.
@@TopHydraulics so the top was stuck down and I’ve been constantly having issues with my separator but when I went to close the top it sounded like it was starting to work for about 1 second then stopped. So I’m assuming something convertible related started to move in the trunk causing the trunk to not be able to open anymore.
@@sergio8872 Getting into the trunk with the top down while the computer assumes that the top is not fully open is really tricky. I recall that we tied a string to the emergency release handle in the trunk lid for that purpose while making the videos, but it's too late for that now in your case. Unfortunately, it sounds like you need to visit your friendly Infiniti dealer or a shop that has the Infiniti software on their computer.
The engineers really didnt do a great job with the convertible design on this car. You have to take apart so much to even get the top down lol other cars you don't have to take anything apart. Even on bmw it's more easier to do.

How to manually move the parcel shelf because mine is stuck at the bottom and I can’t open the trunk

gonna try disconnecting the battery for about 15-30 minutes before attempting to auto open it after manual close

Im interested to know if anybody has paid to have this issue repaired if it was all hydraulics, etc.. Just an idea on expense.

Did you ever figure out from this point? I am also stuck here
Has anyone found a solution to this point? I'm stuck as well.

This would only work if this happens at home cause my toolbox wont even fit in the trunk
