You're not the first one that would cry with the opera part, the first time i heard it i cried like a little kid and still do when i hear it, and yes its Floor
The question was "was that Marco" answer NO, that was Troy.... He has more vocals on this new album..... The question "is THAT Floor?" Yes, that was Floor with her opera sound
Thanks for another wonderful video! FYI the song is a tribute to Eugene Shoemaker. He was a planetary scientist who made many discoveries and was an astronaut candidate for a mission to the moon before health issues kept him on Earth where he trained others for missions. He said not going to the moon to bang on it with his own hammer was his greatest disappointment. He was killed in a car crash in the 1990s and his ashes were launched into space where they are now and forever interred on the moon in the crater which bears his name. That quote from Shakespeare is inscribed on his urn. Going back to the lyrics, he is tucked in for eternal earthrise as his remains are on the moon facing the earth. He is our reach into the far. It’s definitely an emotional song 😎 I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Music and How’s the Heart ❤️ Thanks again and have a fabulous day 🤘
Of course it's Floor and the male voice is Troy. And the funny thing is that the singing style in the opening section is probably more difficult to Floor than the operatic ending. The narrator there is Tuomas's wife Johanna Kurkela, who is also a famous singer with angelic voice and an elvish appearance.
Soeaking of the end: Remember her 'Vilja Lied' from Beste Zangers? ;) I think you're also gonna love the first track 'Music', very interesting vocal melodies there as well, plus another little part which is also surprisingly high sang, in a very cool way. And many more nice things about this one! :D
The song is dedicated to Eugene Shoemaker - as someone wrote. Eugene or just Gene, is also the only man who's ash is on the moon. He played an important role in putting the first man on the moon, but he never got there him self. So NASA honored him by putting his ash there
The male voice is Troy. Marco sing in the last song in the album called "Endlessness" The last song is the best for me. Yep, it's Floor's voice the operatic part. 😁
Absolute highlight Floor's last vocal part. Goosebumps I have too ... but hey .... just, Really everywhere and at the same time zipper closed ... You rock🤘😎
The songs about Eugene M. Shoemaker a astronomer. After his death NASA honored his work by sending his ashes in a capsule onboard a space drone. This drone later on crashed on the moon making Shoemaker the first human to have his ashes scattered on the surface of the moon.
Yet another level of the mastery of nightwish and their continuing journey into tomorrow floor adds about a million more directions for them to explore I can't to see what's next I mean from Angels Fall first to now they grow and perfect
Yes, my dear friend, that voice at the end is Floor. She did a little review of the song, prior to its release, and she explained how hard it was to get that part just right. So yes, it's her... and yes, it gives goosebumps and chills.
Just a little further background regarding this song... This song was a tribute to the life of Eugene Shoemaker. Shoemaker was a geologist and well-known as being "the father of planetary science". You may have heard of his name before as one of the discoverers of the Shoemaker-Levy (Levy was his wife) comet that broke up and collided with Jupiter back in 1994. Anyway, Shoemaker worked for NASA for many years and was part of the Apollo program as an astronaut until his being diagnosed with Addison's disease, which grounded him. Later in his life, he said that the greatest disappointment of his life was that he never got to go bang his hammer on the moon. He was killed in a car accident in 1997 while in Australia researching a meteor crater there. In 1999 a special urn carrying his ashes was attached to the Lunar Surveyor probe which mapped the moon and then (intentionally) crashed into a crater near the lunar south pole, making Shoemaker the only person to be buried on another celestial body. The urn was engraved with the Shakespeare quote from Romeo and Juliet in the video. The "Laudato Si" and "Ad Astra" bits at the end were Latin, meaning "Praise be" and "To the stars". But there's a little more to it than just that. "Laudato Si" is a phrase taken from St. Francis of Assissi's famous song "The Canticle of the Sun", in which he praises the air, water, fire, sun, planets, animals, etc. as being our brothers and sisters. Death as well. And the most notable line regarding this song was: Laudato si, mi Signore, per sora Luna e le stelle: in celu l'ài formate clarite et pretiose et belle. which means: Praised be You, my Lord, through Sister Moon and the stars, in heaven you formed them clear and precious and beautiful. The term "Ad astra" is used in a variety of places in ancient latin writings as well as in some modern contexts. Beyond its literal meaning, it implies the accomplishment of something that is practically impossible or very difficult. The first known usage is from Virgil in The Aneid, where he wrote "sic itur ad astra" or "thus one journeys to the stars" with the idea that it is how one accomplishes the impossible, and "opta ardua pennis astra sequi" or "desire to pursue the high (or hard to reach) stars on wings" when Aeneas taunts Turnus in combat. Another origin is Seneca the Younger, who wrote "non est ad astra mollis e terris via" or "there is no easy way from the earth to the stars". After the disaster of Apollo 1 in which three astronauts were killed in a flash fire that destroyed their capsule on the launching pad, a memorial was erected with the phrase "ad astra per aspera" which means "to the stars through hardships". The Nightwish folks are not religious, but they wanted to convey a sense of religious reverence for Shoemaker and the people like him who help us gain a scientific understanding of the world. This same attitude can be seen in spades in the Nightwish song "The Greatest Show on Earth" as well. This reverence for the natural world and for scientific understanding can also be seen clearly in Nightwish's "The Greatest Show on Earth" which includes some commentary by Richard Dawkins.
YaY Mana is back !! Most reactors are doing the songs in order but you listen to which ever one you want , you will like Tribal for sure , Music is great too !! 🤘🏼💥🤘🏼
Stellar sea, as the model pans over the Moons Mare (belived to be oceans hundreds of years ago). Laudato Si, Ad Astra. Floors wonderful voice, goosebumps. She did this live at concerts too! The Earth sinking below the Moons horizon, in a blink (no atmosphere). The drums and violins.
Now you _need_ to react to Pan. Floor's vocals are outright _superb._ And, react to How's the Heart -- but be warned, you might suffer an invasion of onion-cutting ninjas. It's a song that hits, _and hits hard._ So hard that I shed tears every time I've heard it. And nice to see you reacting again, Mana! It's been a while! Laudito si, per aspera ad astra. Note: Is it me, or has everyone forgotten Floor's performance during Beste Zangers singing Phantom of the Opera? _Of course,_ Floor sings opera -- very, very beautifully, I might add.
I feel like I'm somehow bizarre, since I really love/prefer the first part, and while the operatic part is lovely, it's not the part I enjoy most about this song. This seems contrary to most reactors and commenters thoughts on this song.
Jilhoa says : It's Floor, she has been doing operatic vocal since she was part of After Forever. Listen to her on Dreamflight, live! LINK HERE ua-cam.com/video/GBLke4zeZuI/v-deo.html
She does have a operatic voice maybe you should try to listen her singing phantom of the opera with Henk Poort on dutch tv in " beste zangers 2019". Love your comment.
It's Floor. There is a video almost 10h long the last part on repeat. I'd really like to know, for sure, how high did she go? She's done D6 in the Phantom, F6 in Romanticide (I think) and those were long, strong notes...
Suggestie voor een volgende video : Floor heeft pas een akoestische versie gedaan van het nummer ` How's the heart` van het nieuwe album op het kanaal van Planet Rock.
You are very top in Nightwish reacts!Thank You! Tuomas Holopainen, Troy Donockley and Johanna Kurkela have band "Auri", you find Auri here in You Tube.
Hi MetalMana ! Was watching you now and then, but now subbed. For the journey ! ;-) I was surprised of your reaction hearing Floor getting operatic, because you saw that in Beste Zangers with Vilja Lied ! As a reminder you might like to watch her singing a Puccini Aria: ua-cam.com/video/Od_qcbw3f5Q/v-deo.html She is able to do that, the reason she isnt singing all operatic in NW like Tarja is she can do so much more ! And Tuomas knows to use that ! PS: Nice Floorgasm ! ;-)
Tarjafans = hurraa hurraa Tarja is back and sounds better than ever Nightwish = Sorry she is not Tarja Tarjafans = Who is she ??? Nightwish = Floor Jansen Tarjafans = Holy shit !!!
The more popular Nightwish and Floor have become, the more headaches and nightmares critics have experienced. There are fewer and fewer rational critics and the reasons are starting to sound ridiculous.!!!
It's Troy not Marko, the narrator is Johanna Kurkela Tuomas's wife.
oh thanks! Good to know
You'll love Tribal
i hear Marko there too under Floor's and Troy's voice's.
Marco is singing there too. His voice is panned to left and he is singing at higher pitch.
Marko sings too.
As Floor begins with her Angelic operatic voice I feel like taking a knee and bowing down to The Valkyrie Queen. Am I crazy, is it just me?
Well I bow too.... and she can send me to battle as well!
It's Floor, she has been doing operatic vocal since she was part of After Forever. Listen to her on Dreamflight, live!
Jilhoa1 true, only since her burn out, she has done it less, until now

Tuomas' wife spoke the passage from R & J, but certainly Floor showing her vocal skills at the end. Superb.
Only at the end?
Thanks for another wonderful video!

This song is dedicated to the astrogeologist Eugene Shoemaker
I'm a simple girl, I see Mana reacting to Nightwish, I click
I seldom get goosebumps sadly. But shoemaker gives me goosebumps every single time i listen to it.
I got full body shivers when Floor goes into operatic mode!
Of course it's Floor and the male voice is Troy. And the funny thing is that the singing style in the opening section is probably more difficult to Floor than the operatic ending. Marko also sings during those parts. he does the high harmonic or the low.
If heaven exists, then the angels will surely sing there just like Floor at the end of this song.
@ 06:17 Yes, her musical range is insane! --> Floor Jansen: "The Swiss Army Knife of Singing".
This last part always got me
Absolute highlight Floor's last vocal part. Goosebumps I have too ... but hey .... just, Really everywhere and at the same time zipper closed ... You rock🤘😎
About the operatic part.. now you know what floorgasm is, don't you :)

FLOOR JANSEN'S VOICE,IS
PURE MAGIC!!!🎶🎵🎼🤘
The guitar and drum riffs in this are sweet! And then... Seems your computer couldn't process that brain melting ending xD
Yup, that was Floor. Legit holy shit moment.

I think you'll like Tribal like many others in here :) And welcome back to the Nightwish reactions ;)
Don't you know, that Floor can sing everything. Thats why she is so amazing singer. I got shills every time when I hear this songs last part🥴.
it's Floor

Yeah, that ending is epic as hell, but naaaa, I couldn't forget that killer guitar riff from Emppu in the beginning section.🤘
Nice reaction Mana....just did a reaction to this last night.
That was definitely Floor throughout the whole song! Amazing! ♡
It's Floor yup
Praise be to the stars.
Tribal is bad ass! You would like it, I think
Almost. It's "Praise be to you!" (i.e. to Shoemaker). "To the stars!"
"Holy shit" indeed. Laudato Si, Floor Jansen (praise be to you, Floor Jansen).
It was the awesome Floor!
How could you doubt that that is Floor? If you know her singing you’ll know it’s her. She really is that good.
Yeah that’s FLOOR!!! And the male vocals in the beginning is Troy!
I know what you mean. That last bit is fucking POWERFUL! 👀🤘🖤❤️🤘
To me, this is such a powerful song, both musically and lyrically with Floor. It reminds me that I have not done nearly enough with my life.
Yep, that's Floor 🤘
When you're wondering if it is Floor singing, usually the answer is "yes".
Next react to Nightwish: "Music" Its the first track on the album, as well the opener of the album so you gotta react to that song next!!!
Now you _need_ to react to Pan. Floor's vocals are outright _superb._
And, react to How's the Heart -- but be warned, you might suffer an invasion of onion-cutting ninjas. It's a song that hits, _and hits hard._ So hard that I shed tears every time I've heard it.

They released lyric videos for all the songs.
Good to see you again! :)

Greetings from Hungary
FLOORGASM!!
the way she sings it in the first parts it call's Legato technique and the Soprano part it calls Staccato were she sing in long high lines.
Sir, Legato is the Long Note. Correct me if I'm Wrong.
@@captainfantastic3490 exactly, legato is long notes and staccato are short notes repeated one after the other 👌
Is it Floor ?
Floor : hold my beer...
Well Floor and you are both from the Netherlands @MetalMana :) Am i right?
You need to hear her song Fanton of the Opera with Hank Poort on the Dutch shoe called Beste Zingers
I feel like I'm somehow bizarre, since I really love/prefer the first part, and while the operatic part is lovely, it's not the part I enjoy most about this song. This seems contrary to most reactors and commenters thoughts on this song.

Already seen it, haha i'm dutch so saw it when it aired. I was just shocked she could even go higher than that.
During Bloodstock 2018, Floor hit a G8 at the end of Ghost Love Score -- and this, in spite of the weather being hot, and she not feeling well.
Hallo Mana, hear Floor in o mio bambino caro from Puccini..
And Vilja Lied
@@marianvantol4989 my mistake, in beste zangers..🤗🤗and i forget her duet with Simone from Epica..Stabat mater Dolorosa🤣🥰
Ralf Meyer Hi Ralf. Just a tiny thing ;). Bambino is baby, but it must be babbino , she is addressing “dear daddy”
