50K for a 1Bhk with carpet 360!!! Not that its located in Malabar Hill or Pali Hill... Even then,it isnt justified.... When one agrees to pay that high a rent due to some reasons, they are making it difficult for others who do not have that kind of money to spare since brokers and owners will adopt that as a bench mark... Really sad state of affairs!!

Seems like an awesome apartment - absolutely could not tell that the carpet area is just 350 sq ft (did i get that wrong? seemed much bigger)...also liked the honesty and openness of the couple...live and let live...peace out

This is an interesting series, (when the episodes are in English). Nice young couple and such a cute puppy, Faith. The young lady is lucky to have found a boyfriend who cooks for her. I noticed when I visited India, not many Indian families have pets. The apartment looks clean and modern. It's quite shocking that in India brokers/agents can openly ask their client's religion and then refuse housing based on it. It is illegal to ask a client or customer's race and religion in the U.S. when submitting an application for a rental apartment. I guess there are no anti-discrimination laws in India since it is such a conservative culture. I did not experience any discrimination in hotels, shops, offices, being a foreigner visiting India, everyone was welcoming.

Hiranandani with its huge houses and world class infrastructure was a paradise for people who could afford the houses .It had a charm of its own especially for people from out of town wanting to live in a clean less crowded place.The government wanting affordable housing and wanting more people to live there , made the builder make houses of around 325 square feet.Now this place which is more affordable (50 k rent rather than lacs ),is becoming a jannat !Vishal talks about lack of connectivity of local train and metro -powai initially was planned for people only using car - people had protested when they announced the metro line through powai or even when they built a BEST depot in powai!But Ofcourse you can’t have such elitism in a country like India and things are changing be it smaller houses or the upcoming metro!

Sometimes impression can be built that home owner are being cruel. Lot of times home owner themselves are not in good standing finance wise, so they can not afford bad tenant or they may not be able to pay EMI on their apartment. Hence that reluctance to freelancers.
