By dint of luck, Casper was the first person I met when I arrived at Notre Dame. I said, "You must be on the football team..." He said he was, but this was September, 1971, and he admitted he did not start. Halfway through the season, he became a starter when tackle Jim Humbert went down. Followed his career -- every game possible. Thanks for the memories, Dave!
Well deserved! The Snake to the Ghost, some of the most phenomenal catches in football history. Todays generation hasn't a clue as to what they missed. More in depth footage on Casper catches is in order. Help please.
Casper was such a great player. A great blocker, great hands, and a great team first guy. Watching those raider teams was so much fun.
Dave Casper is the greatest TE I have ever seen!

Great player! In my top 5 favorite ND players.
Excellent football player, one of the best.
He started the reputation of ND being known as TE U!
Congratulation .... The Ghost To The Post.
