    Timelapses like this are one of the last few things that makes me proud of humanity.
    As always I especially love the christening and fireworks show being part of the timelapse, almost like it's just as essential in the construction as everything else. It's inspiring seeing the huge number of ships and crowds that come to see the ship you just witnessed being built in full.

    The speed at which the ship was built is breathtaking. No, I'm not making jokes about the time lapse, ships much smaller than this used to take years to build. Thanks to modular construction, now even monsters like this one are built in a matter of a few months.

      WWII revolutionized shipbuilding… At one point, America was able to build a Liberty ship, from the first keel plate to launching, in just 42 days.
      And then from there, Sweden revolutionized it yet again in the 1960s by perfecting the build style you see here.

    Que bela construção que foi feita para navegar em passeios pelo mundo...mesmo na velocidade da pra entender que uma obra dessa categoria e tecnologia tem que ter só gente de gabarito nesses estaleiros....

    How all of them even know what to do. How projected this. Humans are so freaking amazing, I can't imagine building something like this or even starting such project.

    • @alexice113
      @alexice113 4 роки тому

      because you are 1 human.. they are like 10000 and they all have a specific task.. and it's far easier like this.. bees and ants also have specialised workers so it's not a big deal

      Alexandru Bita My fascination is how is something of this scale, in which each ship is custom and typically not the same, organised in its design, manufacturing, assembling and electrical and interior fitting to meet a rather strict deadline [as a ship can’t hog those dry docks for too long]

    • @alexice113
      @alexice113 4 роки тому

      @@Shepard_AU i already said it.. it's easier when you have specialised workers knowing their shit.. when someone is welding the front of the ship, someone is installing the engines, and others are doing the electrical installation, etc.. when the assembly finish you can paint and so on.. its all coming together easy.. but you know what's not easy? getting our shit together with everything else! (aka the planet is going to hell soon)

    How can engineers possibly draw the plans for something so massive?
    I’m talking 1/4 inch variances. It’s simply amazing

      with something like AutoCAD you can design virtually anything.. even space ships.. if we ever get that far as a species to build those too

      Alexandru Bita What about in WW2, where America [and every other nation] were making all sorts of naval vessels left right and centre when fighting the Japanese. That kind of tech didn’t exist then, so it was all down to pen and paper. And they didn’t even have electronic calculators back then to help them out.

    • @alexice113
      @alexice113 4 роки тому

      @@Shepard_AU it was all on paper yes.. that was hard work indeed thinking in modern terms but they had much more guys specialised for this so... back then people were more preocupied of getting things done rather than just talk, complain and make meetings like we do today.. garbage times we live in!
