I'm torn, because at the end of the day I bought the watch. Not the box. Although I understand that this is a luxury item and that the packaging is very much part of the experience I am purchasing as well. But then I look at what I do with the boxes anyway, how they're just stacked up taking up space in the closet and think "Is this truly that bad a thing?" At the same time, I'm also thinking, "This is a Breitling, not a Patek or F.P. Journe and the likes"
Obviously one does not see the box very often .. during purchase and ones per year or whatever when you add a new box to the other boxes .. then on the other hand it's a luxury product and should feel that way. I think, for instance, the box of my JLC Polaris Date green is a bit oversized. Yet, it looks stunning and they also included a personal note in it as well as some pics of their Maison. That's customer bounding since I will always gladly remember the feeling of exclusivity when unboxing
Most surprising. I realise that the quality of this product should speak for itself. But, having recently purchased two far cheaper watches from Hamilton and Longines respectively, both examples came in packaging that was far superior to this.
They come down with h the boxes I think so they can keep the price a bit down witch I prefer to get the watch becouse the box lives the drew and I think Is very good of them to do the boxex from recicled materials so I do prefer to be able to get the watch ofer the box,so plese breitling keep this boxes on becouse we can get closer to the watches prices
i know what you are saying but i would like to think more money was spent on the watch and not on the box ,its very minimal , most brands are not supplying manuals and have online . i thing the box should be built to last a long time as most people do keep the box and all its items , i bought the superocean and was a little disappointed , i did look at an omega seamaster and wow what a box with that , better than rolex ,
why? my boxes, regardless of quality, are in deep storage just in case I need/want to sell a piece at some future date. Buy the watch, not the box, right?
Most people won't care but I totally understand what you mean. I owned three Breitling watches and I can agree that the older boxer were a lot nicer. Even the great Cocgnac brown leather box you should in your videos has a little downgrade to the older ones as the closure doe only have a pin with a cut in the leather. The old ones had a much nicer button to close. You can clearly tell that Breitling did some costs cuts to their overall portfolio and that also includes the watches itself. Not every model, of course. But especially the more entry level models do only have a very flat and just laser edged case back which is much cheaper than the old molded steel casebacks for example of the Avenger models. Especially if you compare the brand to other 'cheaper' swiss luxury watches you can clearly tell that there is a big gap between brand, marketing and the actually delivered product. As I said, not on every model but especially the more entry level automatic ones. Therefore I will keep my old Avenger II GMT and won't buy any of the newer models anymore. I love new small box. As long as it is small and fits into my shelf it is the best. Pouch also good to travel.

That box is a disgrace, shame on Breitling! I wouldn’t buy a watch on principle from them if they presented that.

Shame on Breitling. I like their SOME of their watches but a lot they do is going completely the wrong direction.
