I've just started watching you. I live in Virginia and this is my first year to have rutabagas. I can a lot. I loved seeing it being a family job--just a huge help! Do you do anything with the leaves or stems?
Hi, we dont do much with leaves and stems, they just become compost for next year. We do make jelly out of corn cobs and we use all celery Leaves but few things are just next fertilizer;)
I pressure canned a few quarts of homegrown rutabaga today. They came out a little darker (brown) then yours. I still have to let them sit for 24 hours. Just wondering if this is normal?
@@RMSpeltzFarm Thanks! It looks like half of the water is gone in each jar. Can I open the jars, add more boiling water, and reprocess them? It's been less than 24 hours.
