Sugarfoot at NAMM 2018

Testing the new Zoom Q2n video recorder at NAMM today. Spotted Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffet at a booth demo-ing these drums. The audio sounds about right and the picture looks good in the lighting with the camera set for auto white balance. I just wish the big fat guy would've moved back about two feet though. I'm not sure I'd appreciate somebody standing right in front of my kit while I played, either.

jim leiss the vendor created a modern cable tuning device so all you had to do was turn a large handle on the drum to tune it up or down. His hope was to get other Drum manufacturers to adopt it to their drums. I think he told me the shells were regular birch, but he wasn’t making drums, just the tuning system.
