My home was built in 85 in Florida my all my pilings have bad rot at ground level , pressure treated , use concrete footers for pilings or pay dearly 20 years down the road.

Under this logic a house is a depreciating asset, divided by the years you live in it. Are we not interested in a house lasting longer than our lives, so that it has resale value after our turn at ownership?
