0:30 if you listen closely, this sounds close to a v10 a weird note to it or just with less power xD Which is kinda funny considering it's a 5 cylinder. Sounds good, not fan of loud and slow cars but i guess this is ok, and the sound is good.
Appreciate it! I completely understand as I have plenty of days where my exhaust gets the best of me and I get a little annoyed. It’s much quicker now than it was in the video and will be boosted this summer to make up for all of this noise.
@Garrett James I've always said since I was a little boy.....if your straight piped 07k is so loud at 3k rpm that you can't even hear the turbo spool and you still got 4.5k more to go, you're having a fun time. Only thing I wish was if this engine could actually cold start one time without sounding like it won't make it down the block, but that's probably skill issue. It's fine after a sensor figures out it's awake. It's literally just "The Infamous e46 Cold Start Problem", but on a VW. Also, what was the 0-60mph on yours? or 5/10-60mph. Mine's an 08 mk5, I got it in at 5 seconds flat from a good launch and then stopped there because sometimes it too much for me. I could tune it to be quicker, but it beats 95% of things on the road anyways. If this engine could actually have an internal engine failure (so many stories with this car on why it's indestructible) , then I've got BIG plans for it, but for now, it's going to be my 200,000 miles 5 second car.
I’m fully straight piped atm howd you achieve this noise straight piped is to raspy IMO you think throwing on a vibrant res and a performance muffler would clean it up?
Ok. Sooooo I have a Mk6 golf. I want it to be completely straight piped and have the iE tune. How could I get the best crackle and pops and everything? If you’d know Dude your golf is the reason why I’m keeping my Mk6 because holy good god it sounds 🥵 straight piped
One more thing. ( I have a lot of questions 😂😭 ) I don’t know if you have the stage 1 or stage 2 iE tune. But we’re you able to hear the difference in pops and crackles? I’m not going to go with stage 2 right away and I wanna keep the engine stock for now. With the flash tool hooked up to the computer were you able to change how aggressive the sound was?
You can’t change the sound and the pops and crackles just come with. Not sure if there’s a difference to the crackles between stage 1 and 2. I have been stage 1 with a catless test pipe which allows the pops to be brought out. I’ve got stage 2 coming this week so we’ll see
@@Youraprune to get back to you, I never experience an increase in crackles. If anything it pops like crazy up in the power band with stage 2. Lower rpms it doesn’t pop so much.
Thank you 🙏, I’m running iE’s stage 1 for now. Am hoping to go stage 2 and 02q swap this summer. Someday when I’m bored I’ll get myself to slap on another resonator.
@@Garrett_James nice I got a 07 New Beetle 2.5 5spd ,gonna 6spd swap it too soon , mostly stock with a singlemass flywheel ,a 2012 oem short runner intake , evolution tuning short intake and heat shield , evolution tuning headers(not installed yet) , rear suitcase muffler delete , eibach pro springs, awesome fun beetle
The ratios in the 02q are far better than the tin can 5 speed. A lot of people have had problems with high mileage and the 5 speed and from what I’ve heard, the 5 speeds thrown in these cars are throw away transmissions. I’ve got a 02q being shipped to me right now which I’m excited about.
yo so I got the rev 9 catback for mine and I love it but i’ve been trying to find a rear valence that fits for the dual pipes and nothing seems to work even a gti oem one
Bro not kidding , not bias , (maybe a little) I own this car, 2012 2.5 MK6- But this is the best sounding exhaust clip I’ve ever heard and n UA-cam. I’ve done the Ingen CAI, and the Awe Tuning Catback exhaust. How do I go to this sound? Please let me know what I need to do.
Hahaha appreciate it greatly! This is when I had a mk5 2.5 header (since then I’ve swapped in the mk6 more tubular header, my car being 2010 go the mk5 header for whatever reason), 2.5” catless testpipe to rev9 2.5” catback. It’s quite loud.
Bolted on, you a 2.5” inside diameter exhaust clamp and cut accordingly, the pipes will sleeve to one another, with the oem size being slightly small diameter.
what’s the set up on the engine? and what stage tune is it? also i’m not sure if you said before but what’s the exhaust set up? i want my car to sound exactly like this
In this video it's just stage 1 from Integrated Engineering, and with that; lightweight crankpulley, ecs short shifter, injen short ram intake, catless testpipe to rev9 catback (full straightpipe to small bottleneck resonator). Since then I've six speed swapped and adopted stage 2
Hey man, do you have an instagram or anything. I have a mk6 2.5 and considering building it but I’m pretty new to it so would love some advice or input.
further it gets the way the more of a v10 it sounds like lmao. love our mini lambo engine
I swear these golf's are a1 very well slept on car.
Duuuuuuude!!!! That was awesome!!! Now I got to do my MK5 Jetta like this
🥵🥵 sounds insane g good shit !

I would throw on a resonator or two. I have just one small bottleneck one
chmabered muffler for high pitch scream
I’ve ran a muffler on top of this and it sounded heavenly
I got an MK5 rabbit, and I have to ask, when you went catless, did you see a noticeable power difference?
Didn’t really... sound difference is all. But if you look online, usp quotes a “solid gain of 10-15 whp and 10-15 ft/lbs of torque”
@@Garrett_James Oh ok thanks man! Mine is stock right now, but not for long lol

Very nice & throaty 🔥🔥

Make a full rev video plsssssss

what wheel converters you using. got a set of bmw bbs sitting that i think would look cool on the 2.5

what exhaust system is that? I’m tryna run dual exhaust tips on mine but idk if a GTI delete out will work with the stock 2.5 hangers
Worked perfectly fine with my 2.5. Rev9 catback
thanks bro that’s the same one I was looking at 🙏🏻

@lincolnmarshall376 oreilys. 2.5” inside diameter. 18” sections.

Rev9 with catless test pipe
🔥 is it a 2.5 engine?

explain exactly what you did to the exhaust i need this asap
Catless 2.5” testpipe all the way to 2.5” rev9 gti mufflerless catback
What type of exhaust system is that
Rev9
Does it vibrate super hard or no?
I have poly engine, trans and subframe mounts so yes, but they’ve worn in to where it’s not so bad. Vibration is still there though.
Does it pass smog with everything on it?
Not a chance

None at all. Just extra piping between the test pipe and catback to connect the two
What wheels are those
Jnc 005s 17x8

I still have it but it’s not my daily anymore, I’m probably going to sell it soon.
