Here we have Edmund Dashie, Shycedes and Twilight Monsparkle all singing together. And with BACKGROUNDS.
Yes it is true, backgrounds have found their way into our little animatics. I wouldn't expect them to become a regular thing though, takes more time to complete these otherwise.
Anyway, IN TONIGHT'S ANIMATIC:
Dashie is locked away and Shycedes awaits patiently for him to be released, though the evil Monsparkle has other plans. He reveals to Shycedes, that her beloved is actually DEAD! How could this be??! Heart-broken, Shycedes turns to Dashie's best friend for comfort in this time of sadness. Which is just as Monsparkle planned it. HOWEVER! Dashie is alive! but still stuck in prison... What shall our brave Dashie do now? Find out next time on InkPotts Creations!

+Frisk Dreemurr They're amazing. Expressions are so important in cartoons because, since the characters have to have very simply designs, they must convey emotion in exaggerated expressions or else it's too subtle to pick up.

Geez.... When Mondego said "there's something I must say" I totally got chills.
Just have to applaud the progression of character designs. In I will be There, Dante looks a bit roughed up, but still hopeful and positive. Now, he's grown weary and tired, but the color hasn't gone entirely out of him yet. Then, in Hell to your Doorstep, he's completely down in the dump, his darkest moments, barely recognizable, finally, in I know those eyes/That man is dead, he's slightly more colorful ,though still hardly recognizable, but he's clearly gotten out of the dumps
And he's a stallion.
Honestly the first few times when I saw hell to your doorstep which was how I found this series I didn’t recognize rainbow.
Mainly because I didn’t know the story then and didn’t know that there were other videos.
so ive read the og novel and just have to say how absolutely despicable Mondego is compared to the other conspirators.

cadarouse was legit just drunk
but mondego? mondego set everything up just so he could STEAL Mercedes. even once dantes is imprisoned he doesn't wait for the twos hope to dwindle, he goes straight to lying and BREAKS A WOMANS HEART JUST SO HE CAN GET INTO HER PANTS
if anyone deserved to die, its Mondego.
Personally, I found Danglars to be much worse.
He was the main instigator behind the whole thing, and IIRC, it wasn't even that he was in a particularly bad spot - he was simply envious of Edmond's luck and angry that Edmond found out that he was embezzling money.
Putting aside Caderousse, Villefort, while still a bastard, could be understood, because he was afraid of losing his position. And Mondego was just a little b**ch, if it wasn't for Danglars, he wouldn't even have the balls to go through with the plan. I feel like, even the event that brought about his downfall, the one with the Sultan (was it?), it happened because he was too cowardly to stand up and fight, so he chose to do what he did instead, to protect himself.
But Danglars? He wasn't protecting himself, he wasn't protecting his family... He was just a piece of sh...
That makes him _way_ worse in my book.
the expressions really fit the song. Twilight Mondego's face when Shycedes sings about praying everyday is hilarious, as it perfectly conveys his exasperation.

Honestly the animatics probably look better than any SFM could possibly look. You look a lot of expressiveness with 3D-animation.
You lose a lot of the emotional expression shifting to 3d from 2d, especially to sfm
I know this is supposed to be serious, but I just had to laugh at Twilight's gagging expression.
And then Pinkie Pie pops out of a hole. (For real thought I'd bet money on her being the old man.)

I know this is a Sad and Serious song but for the life of me I can't stop laughing at Mondego's faces
I love how in I Will Be There Dashie's coat was bright and her mane was neat but then in this one her mane and coat are all faded and her wings are bandaged. It just looks like she's lost hope. She looks sick, thin, weak and helpless and it just was amazing. To add on to the pure glory of it Twilight was annoyed with Fluttershy's hope and belief that Dashie was coming bad and she was mocking Flutters behind her back. Also the scenes where Twilight is talking to Fluttershy, Twilight switches from Twilight to Dashie. This is just a fraction of my thoughts on this I'm going to make a video about it. Keep up the amazing work.

The musical sounds awesome judging by this, but I've not seen it. Damn good music either way.
The *book* on the other hand is probably one of my favorite books of all time (and I am a voracious reader). It is a master piece. If you have any love of books at all, this is one tale that is absolutely worth reading.

Really loved the scratches on the wall and the ghostly appearances by Edmont at the end (was expecting that and would have died if it didn't happen :P).
I love this! But I don't understand why he's in jail. Also, when Twilight was mocking Fluttershy I couldn't stop laughing! This is so awesome and I love how Rainbow Dash's version is sad and Flutters is very happy until Twilight jphad to ruin it for Fluttershy. One more thing, Twi makes best villain XD
RD was imprisoned because Twilight, AJ and Rarity framed him for a crime he didn't commit.

MLPGirl6410 They all had different reasons, Twilight wanted Fluttershy for himself, Applejack got a lot of money out of the betrayal, and Rarity had to do it because RD had information that could ruin her family.

I listened to this in summer 2014 in TOP-10 PMV or similar. On that moment, I have not read the book “The Count of Monte Cristo” and did not know about this musical. But I liked it and added to my playlist on UA-cam. In the first month I did not listened to this but after I listened again and from that moment this is became one of my favorite songs. I liked this story of imprisonment and loneliness. At the same time, I wanted to read the book.
Actually, in 2014 I had a “musical crisis” when the “old” music became boring and I did not have the “new” music. In April I started listening to brony music and this always brings pleasure.
3 November 2014 I listened to 2th part of this series of animatics “I will be there” and.. I bought full album on Google Play (usually I listen to album before purchase it). The next day, 4 November I downloaded the book…
Then I started listening to Thomas Borchert, then I started listened to opera music.. Actually, I always loved symphonic orchestra, sympo-rock (Electric Light Orchestra for example), etc., but “Traviata” in april 2015 was a revelation for me. And top of this, I think, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in my city yesterday… This is absolutely amazing, a lot and lot of energy and beautiful classic music. The audience was delighted, the conductor gave autographs.. If You who read it can attend the concert, necessarily do it!
At the end of 2014 I wanted attend the concert of best opera singers of the world, but the concert in my city was canceled because one singer was ill. It was sadly because I wanted listen to best voices and best music in the world when I only just started discover it. I thought that such events will no longer be…
1 January 2016 I watched the Vienna New Year’s Concert on TV and I really wanted listen to it live. I thought it impossible. But this happened in my city.. Saratov, Russia (I think, You absolutely doesn’t know about this city :D). It is really unbelievable! I think, it was the first and last in Saratov, but I was there, I listened to it!
Thank You very much Ink Potts, it is You, Annabelle and Victoria, who discovered to me the World of Beautiful Music. Without your creativity I would not listen to this music and did not attend to such concerts :)

The visuals got me to thinking of what hell it was inside a prison of those times for the wrongly convicted.
This one is great. The animatic is nice and pretty, and the song makes it better. At the part when Monsparkle tells Shycedes that Dashie is dead, right before it, I thought she was going to push her off. Son't know why, but that face made that my fist thought.
Technically,Monsparkle is doing something horrible, because Shycedes is related to her. If we go by the book, at least.

You would go insane too if you were wrongly imprisoned in a horrible horrible prison for years on end where everyday you get tortured by the warden (no seriously in the movie version of Monte Cristo, the warden or one of the guards literally tortures Edmund every. single. day.) And then you escape only to find your "best friend" married your wife and that he, your first mate, and a prosecutor were all responsible for your false imprisonment just because said former friend wanted your wife for himself (and the other two have their reasons as well).

Amazing as always! I love how you managed to make Dashie's mane and tail look so... dead, for lack of a better term, by dulling the colours as well as making the lines messier. The edited colours make it look so dirty so effectively.

This song/video are extremely relatable for me. I saw someone in the comments saying it was relatable and I just asked "How?" Because I really don't see how it could be relatable for anyone except people who have gone through the same as I have. My fiance died. Leading to me being taken advantage of in my grief. The only difference is it wasn't a lie that he died, and I will never get my happy ending with him like in this story. If you haven't been through this, or been imprisoned or kidnapped, please do not say that you find this relatable. I get maybe you are thinking LDR is like this, but it is NOTHING compared to hearing you will NEVER see, hear, smell, hold, kiss, love, that person again.

The thing about relatability is that it has nothing to do with reason or experience it's a purely emotional feeling and emotions don't care for reason.
I have had my share of heart break more than any one person should but I don't deny others the right to find relatability and solace in things that I do.

Meaning you can't tell someone you feel worse than them just like they can't tell you they do emotions are incomparable so to is life and thus most importantly is art for art is the mirror we see our own truth reflected in.
Hm I simply don't believe that. I can say with certainty someone who say, lost a sibling or parent in an accident, feels 100 times worse than someone who is all broken up cause they lost their cell phone.
Alright than tell me the mathematical equation you used to calculate how "relatable" you found it then tell me how you knew the exact amount that other person related to it.
See at best here you are assuming you had it worse with no confirmation of that but you can't really put an objective value on emotions so it's nonsensical to act like we can.
I mean maybe that person had photos and videos of people they've lost or memories they'll never get back.
When we assume that we feel worse than others that's all it is an assumption.
Take me for example I've lost literally everyone I love LITERALLY and I have had people try to kill me and I am going to die young (literally I know this for certain) oh and I have some experiences from being a kid that no kid should go through.
But I would rather be damned than ever tell someone that I have it worse than anyone and if someone tells me something had upset them even if it sounds like the most ridiculously insignificant thing I would give them every inch and consolation that I can.
I know what it's like to feel terrible and have others tell you that "they have it worse" and I never want anyone to feel like that.
Oh and though I do relate to this song (especially the "everyday a little death" line) I personally find "Infected" off Repo and Close every door off Joseph to relate to my past and present best.
Musicals are good at having songs and stories that almost everyone can relate to some part of (same with most media actually) yet give an interesting and new perspective on things.

Granted, I'm not a hundred percent familiar with the story or musical beyond a basic plot summary, but I'm wondering if Mondego here is deliberately playing on the double meaning of the phrase "a little death" (besides Dantes' figurative death in jail, and Mondego claiming Dantes is dead), considering what "la petite mort/the little death" is a euphemism for, and the fact that Mondego gets Dantes framed, lies to Mercedes, and then takes advantage of her heartbreak and her trust in him, just to get her into bed with him.
Just some food for thought there that occurred to me while watching this.
