When I saw that the seventy minute long video was starting with a best of three I was hopeful that you might have sneaked in another mirror match at the end. That wasn't the case but I'm hardly disappointed with what an entertaining final game that was. There was great back and forth fighting through the whole series.

I think it's a common knowledge for this moment in time that if you want to be good at starcraft 2, you just should not make any mistakes and you'll be fine.

Regarding usernames - it would be death to a UA-camr because your livelihood is based entirely on your reputation and brand recognition, whereas pro-gamers are more based on their MMR and the results they produce, so their name-recognition is less important, except maybe in sponsorships.

Hey Lowko! Amazing video as always, but I do have a comment: I've been feeling you're sometimes skipping too much of the early game in your casts. I completely understand the early game is usually not much to talk about, but in this case, for example in the second match, you had Protoss taking once again the gold, some zerglings barely scouting it (and took you almost 2 minutes to check if indeed Scarlet had vision or not), some oracle action, etc.. while rambling for several minutes on the same subjects of nametags. Just something to keep in mind. Keep up the great work!

I like the way this Lancer fellow plays, TBH... prioritizing shield upgrades over armor is the right move overall I think, and I don't really ever see that with anyone else.
Reynor actually did that when he played Protoss against Zerg when he was doing off race games last year. Maybe Lancer got it from him. I agree that its the right call against Zerg but not against Terran.
The problem is that most units have more health than shields. So you are choosing to take more permanent damage on the unit, if the shields are eliminated.
I agree with you though, especially with shield batteries, it increases the value.
@@jommsnow Terran has anti-armor as well as EMP... tough late game for protoss.
@@IcariumGaming most of the time during sky transition Protoss is flying with no upgrades. At least Lancer had shields. I think that’s pretty cool.

Interesting Protoss player. He seems very fond of Void Rays and that's pretty uncommon from pro level Protoss.

I think restyling yourself is actually much more common and accepted outside of Europe/NA. It's just kind of an Asian cultural thing.

Nuke is laser guided, when ghost die the laser point disapperes
Sounds like poor development... I am sure it would remember the general area of the laser, or at the least become a dumb bomb, and land somewhere random.
However it would punish a defending player to kill a ghost rather than letting it land as it could potentially land on the army you just moved...

A pro player changing their username is like changing the brand name of your hugely famous social media platform. You're basically throwing away part of what defines your brand, makes you recognizable and interesting to sponsors/advertisers.
That said, I can see how a player may end up no longer feeling connected with a certain name that represents them as a person. -Xitter on the other hand...-

Scarlett like many of the zerg players not named serral are having issues with playing aga8nst protoss in the new balance patches. no banes, no infestors show how badly they were nerfed to where a lot of zerg players not named serral wont even touch them much anymore.
Scarlett is B tier though, she consistently makes amateur mistakes in every single match.
It is like watching a highschool football game and not the NFL.
You balance a game, if you care about professional play, on the top end, not the bottom.
The nerfs to banelings and infestors, are nearly unnoticed in every other league.
@@IcariumGaming No that is not true, Blizzard has always made balance patches based on all tournament results from the data that is shown on aligulac (which Lowko references frequently). Its impossible to balance a game without data, and there simply isn't enough players in the top 8 playing often enough.
To imply balance changes don't make a difference around the top 30 of pros is laughable. The high school comparison is just silly & would be closer to rank 3-400GM, where they definitely don't win hundreds of thousands playing unlike Scarlett.
Its true Zerg is weakest in both matches right now, but it takes several months of consistent win rates at or above 55% before its declared IMBA. Its likely one of the bane nerfs will be reverted, or maybe Ghosts nerfed a bit.

Meaning the top players, discussing the use, and mechanics. An unbalanced game eliminates competition, which will eliminate viewership, and impact the prize pools for professionals.
Scarlet is in the top 8 for Zerg. However, she does make a lot of amateur mistakes. In my opinion the skill level between her and Reynor (top 4 based on earnings) is vast.
So maybe highschool was a bit cruel, maybe say like the CFL vs the NFL. A professional, but definitely not in the same league as the other four.
@IcariumGaming Pros have always been consulted when balancing, the net is wider to top streamers now but Blizzard still executes the patch based on aligulac's tournament data so nothing much has changed there.
Map design is now 100% community driven, and there's no more game design changes like new units, so sadly we are stuck with awful disruptors 😐
Yes that's why they balance around all tournaments & not just the Premiere winners. Protoss already dominate the Majors, so buffing them too much so they could win in at the very top would lead to most tournaments & GM being 95% Protoss, viewership would collapse. It's unfortunate that Protoss struggles to win Premieres but when balance is asymmetric due to a lower skill ceiling there's no way to fix it without major design changes.

For real, they should make it where the Mothership cannot be pulled by Vipers. It's silly how expensive and yet exposed the unit is.
Same passive ability as the Ultralisks, immune to CC
They already buffed it by not making it energy based. So ghosts cant counter it

I was totally rooting for Scarlett until the vypers!!!! God that unit is so imba!!! It would be like if ghosts could snipe any unit with 1 hit...... If even the speed slowed down against big units . So it slowly dragged the 2 units towards each that would be something...... But as someone watching, seeing end game units destroyed so. easily with a single click...... Ughhhhh!!!!!

At this point I always get excited to look at Scarlett's games, and have to scrub to the end to see if she wins or not because my feelings just can't handle when she looses, which seems to be like 80% of these super high-level matches. Both hard and easy to be a superfan of the Queen of Blades 🥲
