You are a hero Mick I wish my dad was here to hear your words he would be so proud. He was a massive trade-unionist as a member of the TGWU he was a convenor and he was clever he built his branch from nothing and got workers in his factory the wages and rights they deserved. So from my youth I saw his struggle I went with him to the Kill the Bill march in London as a young boy and I saw the pride in his face for the solidarity of his union. Mick reminds of my dad a true and honest leader of people. If you haven't joined a union and you read this do it and protect your rights to earn a decent living and hold your head high, everyone counts.

Having spent a long working life of 42 years as an active Trade Unionist ( now retired) I can honestly say that Mick truely speaks for the workers of this country. Throughout my time I supported numerous members through their employment difficulties. You won some and you lost some but you were always on the side of the angels. Let’s hope that we start to see a surge in membership it’s key to the battles ahead. Mick you are my new hero.

I only wish I could have been there. Get this man on main stream media as much as possible. Get him all over social media. This man should be heard. Everyone should be made to join a union.
Allow them to join a union. Forcing anything seldom works but many companies discourage unions in their premises. Closed shops seldom are effective in getting proper rights for workers but encourage mediocrity in the workplace. I have been unfortunate to work for three different companies all of which were non union. Did not end in a happy way. I have seen people work in closed shops also did not end up happy as many of the officials were lazy and just gave lip service to their roles in protecting and refining the rights of their members. The best were places where membership was voluntary because the officials had to work hard each year to keep membership numbers up and advocate for continued membership.
Does that include the people who can't get to hospital for cancer treatment or thousands of people who won't get paid cos the train's cos of rail strikes I don't think so
There is only one way to stop our self appointed elite acting like Feudal kings and queens, lords and ladies. We have to stop acting like serfs meekly accepting the crumbs from the top table. Stop fighting their wars for power and fight our own war for fair pay and fair play. Smash the class ceiling and give our kids the future we all deserve.

I met many miners when I lived in a pit village just outside of Coventry. I always believed miners were the salt of the earth, I found out that I was so wrong, they were scum of the earth, they were mostly fascist bastards, racists, and these were striking miners. i regret ever paying money into their strike fund.
