No serious guitarist has only 1 guitar. Buy the vanilla one then get the one you dream of being. I've got 25 guitars so I can be a different person every day.

They’re trying to keep it relevant by adding John Donais (Anthrax/Shadows Fall) Doyle (Misfits) and Reece Scruggs (Havok) to the lineup . A Reece Scruggs signature would be epic. Just gotta cross my fingers.
I have a Dean classical from several years ago that is superb considering how cheap it was. It'll probably be an extreme rarity then before much longer.
It's weird how this applies 100% to Schecter guitars, but only 50% for Schecter basses. One day, they dialed it back to Red Bull and designed the Stiletto Custom and Studio.

My Epiphone is staying with me till the day I die. It doesn't have to be the most exquisite quality; bang for buck is off the charts. Some of the stuff Epiphone is making these days should scare the crap out of Gibson's upper management. I'm sure it's no different with Fender Mexicans vs. American-made!
Really depends on where u wanna put your money. Back in the day when mexis were $700 and not $900 then I would've called it a *decent* bang for buck but when you invest in legacy brands such as Fender/Gibson, they're all kinda crap anyways (as far as what you get for your money). A REALLY good bang for your buck would be from Schecter who has amazing build quality all around or Sterling which offers amazing quality and roasted maple necks starting at like $550. To say American guitars are overpriced because of the legacy brands is unfair to say the least. Kiesel has some starting at like $1200 which are great and Music Man guitars are some of the finest guitars on the planet and offer some of the best feel, performance and sound that will give the legacy brands nightmares and wet dreams at the same time lol. There's great bang for buck in every price point nowadays, so I encourage everyone to shop outside of the legacy brands (even though alot of other big brands are owned by the big 2 lol)

Love my MIK Squier Strat.......granted its not a Fender and it isnt how it left the factory (EMG SA singles/EMG wiring, Gotoh saddles, Graphtec Tusq nut, Guitarfetish trem block) but it has aged beautifully and is so versatile. IT also plays amazing too

I really only like my 5 late 80’s Ibanez rg140’s …specifically the one made in the peerless factory with round horns…they don’t have shredder necks, came stock with gotoh 1055 trems, have a very unique cut to the nut and they came in typical 80’s colors and can be had for beans. Also since they are so old they come pre loved and i never worry about chipping the horns…which if you own any other Ibanez guitars once those horns have been chipped the guitar is basically useless.
As a Fender owner , that is the most accurate thing I've ever heard, except people never took me seriously to begin with, even after the stickers were removed bc i play it upside down, despite having 10+ years experience above them ;3

@@scarletiron Schecter gets it. A majority of their offerings are also available in left hand. The same can't be said for other major brands. The upside is that I was forced to learn how to work on my own instruments. It not only saves me a lot of money, but it also saves many instruments from going to the landfill.
My favorite currently is Caparison as I just purchased one not to long ago. To me they are kind of like Jackson but all handmade but I will say that my Prs S2 has served my for many years, but see a lot more case time now. I hope this video trigger a lot of people.

I never peeled the the weird piece of electrical tape off my Fender Fat Strat. Been on there for 20 years. And I was in a punk/funk/metal band...not really hardcore. Though the next band was avant-garde electro grindcore. Still played the Fender Fat Strat. I did go to college for music composition though at Butler University. Strange how this was fairly accurate except I am older than your target group and I never really 'grew up.'
Seeing Fender and then Musicman I thought G&L was about to come next, sadly nothing about that :( Not sure to precisely describe it, except for perhaps "You are a fan of Fender, but you are slightly sick of the old, traditional stuff and wanna seem quirky and different." haha
