    Love it! Let's find a cool spot and bring out the metal detectors and find some relics!

      We need to get detectors that can detect specific metals because usually there is a ton of iron nails and pieces everywhere that would make the detector go crazy

    I was there in 2002. The fences and gates were not there. All open shafts and the cracks (caved in shafts) were all wide open. There were no recent tracks back then; now there isn’t anyplace where people aren’t going

      So many places are being lost to the elements and some being purchased by mining companies only to erase the history that was there. In 20 years these will just be a snapshot in time of what used to be there that no longer will be.

      @@JohnExploresEverything dont know if you’ve heard of Rawhide in the same part of the state. saw cool pics of the ghost town and had a map so took great trouble to get there. Hugely disappointed to find the ghost town along with the entire mountain gone. In its place was a giant pit from a modern mining operation. Sure miss the days of exploring the desert out there.
