- Paris catacombs in 4K. Over 6 million dead were relocated to these tunnels because of the stench of rotting flesh coming from overflowing cemeteries in the 1700's. Walking tour of a creepy tourist attraction. Top best tour review!

1:19 this is a quote from Virgile's Aeneid, litteraly meaning "stop ! here is the empire of death". Making it even better!
very interesting. looks like some of the workers doing the relocation had a sense of humor, the designs in the stacks of bones? I swear I thought I saw a stick figure made with skulls in one part.
There were a variety of weird patterns. I wouldn't like to meet the guy from the 1800's carrying a candle & stacking bones!
Thanks for making this, was there a couple years back, was nice to revisit :)
Imagine being in there, in the dark, then hearing “HI SISTERS!”
Oh hell nah
This is SO cool!! Thanks for sharing man!! Hope I get to go down here someday!!
1:18 there’s a ghost
you can even hear the footsteps holy shit
I'm pretty sure that's the shadow from the people walking ahead of them
haha thought so too first but its thier shadow xD
Yeah no, that aint no shadow
not surprising since 6 million peoples souls will haunt the tunnels, never able to die or disappear. even after the earth is gone and the sun and the solar system and the universe. they will still be there
That is really cool man thanks for sharing!
my pleasure, it was an amazing experience!
Wow that's crazy! Carry On!
this is so awesome. thank you for sharing!!
I didn't know what to expect, but it was crazy!
The Catacombs in Rome are way more beautiful
Thorn
awesome exploration bro!
+exploring with flaco thanks, flaco ☺
That's cool but creepy too. Thanks for sharing this video
Hello, it's me again. Just in case you're curious (not advertising my channel), the video is finished. I'd also like to say that you've done me a bigger favour than you probably know. It gave me a pang of nostalgia when I edited the video. I was in the Paris Catacombs like in the late 80s and it doesn't look like I will be able to go there, not to speak of filming, anytime soon. So, to cut a long story short: thanks again so much!
Glad I could help! I no longer monetize any of my content on UA-cam, so I consider my contributions to the Internet free to share. Now I'm curious to go see what you made!
@@dirtroad5637 And I'm curious about your opinion!
I feel sorry for the poor guy who got that job. "Stack them bones real nice.....and no penis jokes either"
I feel heavy and emotional watching this. But I have a strong urge to visit the catacombs. Thanks for your vid
Nice collection!
your channel is pretty sweet man thanks for sharing
Thanks for the share .
no problem, I really enjoyed being there and filming it :)
Man talk about stacking em up! Wow thanks for sharing brother awesome
brings new meaning to ammo scores videos saying, "Stack 'em deep!" lol
thank you for filming this!
Some good history as right on...Good stuff...
Most US citizens have no grasp on history until they visit places like this, myself included
such a cool experience
My wife was determined to do it, I had no idea it existed
Where does the figure 6 million come from? How do we know that there aren't more? Is that 6 million just in the navigable areas? How many are in the illegal areas, and how many were taken over the years before Paris opened it for tourism?
I just asked the same question!
I mean, they can just count every skull as one body, they don't even need to bother with any other bones
@@patriotpat1243
In 1785 they decided to clean all the cimeteries. And to bury each body in the former stones galeries below the streets of Paris.
Thousands of years of dead parisians were moved here.
Catacombs with ossuary are a very small part of the whole catacombs.
You can also find nazis bunkers, former hospitals or churches. Former NATO base. Mushrooms factories too. Clandestines parties, fountains etc
Yeah, I counted 5 million five hundred thousand and forty eight.....pffft.....liars.
thank you for sharing...
you are welcome :)
Nice video. I'm interested in the white obelisk images that seem to separate sections of bones. Why and obelisk? And are they part of the internal structure or just a decoration placed on the facade?
Very Cool!!
CuriousYellowSolar and there was a gift shop at the end, lmao
Very cool!!! Creepy, but cool. :)

Not something you see every day!
6.000000 x 270 (bones in full grown body) = 1 620 000 000 more than 162.000.000 bones down there!
Very cool!
but not as cool as a Texas Weapons Systems AK47 dust cover... I was torn between this vacation or the rail...
Had to be a tough choice!
Pretty cool experience. I can relate with the stench of the rotting dead from the EMP series. 4k was 🔥
BZA RZA GZA This was actually my basement with the remains of trolls who leave rude comments on my videos 😛
That’s beautifully terrifying
On judgement day all them bones gotta sort themselves out and hop on outta there!
You realize how stupid that sounds?
Man I just lol at two in the morning waking up my elderly parents I care for.that was some funny shit!
I need to go to the catacombs. Heard a lot about it on the podcast Haunted Places and there are so many interesting stories!
It looked like you made your way through there pretty quick…lol. I don't think I would want to go there ever. Thanks for the video :)
It was longer than i thought it would be. Crazy to multiply this footage by at least 4X to gain perspective on the body count.
remember they only have about 2km open to the public when it's rumored to have a tunnel connection of up to 140km
pretty interesting, lots of history in there !
absolutely!
Hello, I was wondering if I could use about 4 mins of your material for my non-commercial (!) channel (unofficial music / lyrics videos). Would be awesome!
You have my permission to use any of this video.
@@dirtroad5637 Wow, so generous and so fast! You have my thanks! Thanks a whole lot!
As Above So Below was filmed here. Creepy movie.
IT SURE IS JSJS
Love that movie!
How come it looks like there's only leg bones and skulls ? Wheres the rib cages and other parts?
2-4-5 TRIOXIN they could be in the illegal part but I'm unsure
Yeah, could be.
They were probably smashed and used as fertilizer...bone meal.
Yeah, possibly.
I think due to the need for space and organization these were disgarded
Does anyone know what tour this is or how I can go on this tour? I’m going to Paris next year!
I got so claustrophobic 😫
I'm afraid of slinky going down thr stairs legit makes me cinvulse. Life is a slinky
Sameeeee
How long does it take to walk the whole thing?
im guessing when all the renovation went on that all the bones where moved and re stacked, theres other videos where the bones look like they where just thrown to the side and left, illd imagine the non tourist sites are more interesting as they have been left as they where
That is crazy!
They shouldn't have made fun of my aim in my videos :P
Dirt Road Gun Show 😂
And this is the tourist area, there are over 400 miles of tunnels, deep underground.
Very interesting; you live your life, and your bones make art.
Damn France, you scary!!
That is crazy. My daughter is going to Paris next year on spring break with school.
She will love it!
What do the signs say? I wish u had translated them
The sign at 1:21 says “Stop ! This here is the empire of death”
Pretty sure I saw my old Uncle Pierre.
Hahaha good one
Robespierre’s remains actually are in one of the lost secret rooms apparently
This is very interesting but WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK *WHYYYYYYYYYYYY* I feel depressed when I watch this, but I can't stop watching!!!
My wife wanted to see it.
What stench would there have been from bare bones?
Jodie York who said that they had to be bare bones at the time 😬
good heavens. that's A LOT of people. Is the people from the black death? I love history but i still have a lot to learn. I can say that I don't love it enough to go walking through catacombs of this great number. I would love to walk through an Egyptian tomb though. I feel as though the ones that are interested in things such as this lived during these times once before maybe. What do you think Dirt Road? You are a brave soul to walk through this dark death of heartache. Thanks for the video. It satisfied my curiosity.
Apparently these skeletons are from various cemeterys that were overloaded back then, so they moved them here
I have a feeling we might be seeing a skull and bones back stop on the dirt road shooting range
lol, I travel with one carry-on backpack, so I could only smuggle about 250 dead bodies/bones to use as my backstop. The problem is they pulverize to dust quickly, but that makes for excellent slow-mo footage with my peasant rifles.
Thanks for the video. As I watched it I was thinking how close to death you were and how most have never been.
Yes, as most of our existence will be in "pile of bones" form, lol, no sense in worrying about the inevitable
it's really horrible...can I use some clips in my videos without any copyright issues ...?...please answer this question
What length of clips do you need? I can share the original 4k footage with you on Google drive ☺
@@dirtroad5637 not much ..like 40 seconds to 1 minute...?...also, I don't use your music I just want to use little bit clip...can I use it please give me the permission...!
@@CreepyTruth Yes, you have my permission to use up to 60 seconds, I appreciate you asking! dirtroadreviews@gmail me if you want a google drive link of the original raw HD footage with many more scenes of walking through the bones
Freaking unreal man!
But what I don't get is that were they all bones already when the catacombs 1st opened or was it all rotting flesh mixed with bones already?.
All bones already. By taking the old bones to the catacombs, they made room for the rotting corpses to be buried in the cemeteries.
i thought it was illegal to go to the catacombs. they have electricity and tour routes now?
Luis its like the #1 attraction on tripadvisor and has a gift shop at the end
There's a part open to the public, the rest is closed. You can find secret spots and make your way in but that's illegal
basicaly if they cant make money from it then its illigal :P
I kept telling him that that there is a right way and a wrong way to post other peoples videos. If they ask a lot of times the original owners don't mind but you have to credit the original owner either in the title or in the description. Someone posts clips of Jim Cornette's podcast and Cornette just found out and says he doesn't care lol. But these guys are taking full credit and in your case with your toenail videos being your most profitable, it hurts you. In a nutshell I hate stealing and lying because it never leads to anything good.
ricky dona I messaged that guy and the previous thief, but they never replied. I think it's a toenailbot on the loose! The dumbest thing about both of them was copying the thumbnail and the video description.
Dirt Road Gun Show On the subject of toe's....you didn't step on anyone's while you were down there?
no, but I need to hurry up and rip this shark fin nail out of my foot. My fans need toenail removal satisfaction!
i went there last month, too spooked to record.
Creepy place😨😨😨😨😨😱
lol overflowing cemeteries is a sorry explanation for this.. something else went on
Exactly what I thought. Who built these beautiful tunnels that run hundreds of kilometers? How were they built before we had power tools? Why "6 million"? Why so many rotting corpses lying around all at once? Must've been some huge cataclysym. And an advanced culture skilled in stone working.
@@allenmja Mines have been built since 4000bc, and every single building before late 1800s was built without powertools. It was obviously much much harder and it took decades or centuries to build many of the ancient landmarks we know today, but it was made possible by very hard labor and intelligent engineers. As for the corps part, I imagine the city was growing very fast at the time and people died a lot more frequently due to poverty, plagues and the lack of modern medicine. Finaly, everything looks beautiful because of the religious nature of what was being built. It was already practically sacrilege to take corpses out of their tombs, so the very pious french people of the time wanted to give the bones a decent final resting place.
Definitely something else... What did they die from...?
Its not like theres was the Bubonic Plague or black plague or just any 100’s of plagues and shit back in the day...
Cask of Amontillado
Who do these skulls and bones belong to? god thats so weird to think about i'm mindblown
DrezenDK they excavated many "overflowing" cemeteries around Paris and moved the remains down to the catacombs to stop the smell
DrezenDK....skull and bones society
DrezenDK...they got catacombs in Italy too
Why are there lights??
Is it me or did it look like someone peeking out in mimute 1:16
Also minute 1:13
How long is this tour? anyone know?
The line to get in is about two hours because they only release a few people in every ten minutes or so. They do that so it doesn't get too crowded down there. You can rent a walking audio tour or just go at your own pace. Some people were able to cut to the front of the line by buying some sort of pass. We walked through fairly quickly in about 30-40 minutes, but you could spend hours down there if you wanted to.
george sepulveda iii
For the line you can buy a "skip the line ticket" so you only have to wait about 10 minutes. Then the visit is up to you, I mean, you can just walk without stopping and finish your tour in about 30 mins or you can read all the explanations and listen to the audioguide, in this case you need about 1h/1h30. I just went there and it was a very interesting experience
Brian Rocca Vlogs x
I took a tour of these catacombs in 2012 and was uberly creeped out.
btw, "Zowee Mint" just got shut down for stealing my toenail vid :) These catacombs are a humbling experience.
1:18 there's a ghost for sure.
There are estimated to be about 13mil+ bodies in there but there could be more only a little % of the catacombs are explored the rest is dark and unknown
1:18 I saw something walk past that wall and it dissappear
Theres a ghost floating down the hallway go look from 1:11 --- 1:19
You should put scary as music I'll shit my pants 100%
Isn’t it scary down there?
PickWickLouis no, I went there a couple of weeks ago and first, there are a lot of people even if you don't see them; and then it's more like a "museum", I mean, you have your audioguide and there are a lot of boards with explanations, illustration etc. But as I said, there's always someone (also staff) and it one of the most visited places of the city, so you can't feel alone ahah
ps:(it is scary if you go on your own in the part closed to the public wich is also illegal). Anyways it is a very nice experience
pure madness
- ok, so there's bones in the public sections, but what are all those endless tunnels about?, Are there bones and stuff buried in them, too?
rickster348....probably a display of baby bones
Yes, there are ossuaries in the forbidden section too. But the Catacombes complex is so huge, even the ossuaries are but a portion of it. There's also secret rooms of secret societies and such, secret cinemas and restaurants, mushroom farms, squats with street art, flooded areas where some go swimming, etc...
It's the Underworld.
See guys, that's how I want to decorate my bedroom . .. 💀💀💀😉
SOL LUNA yes I'm not the only one
Was it smelling?
Surprisingly, there was no particular smell down there.
Bones doesnt smell
at 1.18 someone ran and disappered
Its called a shadow, but it looks creepy x)
That was a ghost 👻
+thanks for share +
Taste the Dead ☻
There was surprisingly no unique smell down there and it didn't taste like anything either!
This reminds me of this myth it was hold ur breath while passing a cemetery or ull bring a ghost home
Does it stink down there?
The old bones are dust-dry and have no smell whatsoever.
Dirt Road thanks for the reply
Moneymyke357 so many disconnected UA-camrs... not me 🙂
Dude whats w/ all the metric talk? Speak our measuring system lol. Thanks for sharing.
Now that this video has had time to generate stats, my intentional use of the metric system was a good choice. I'm getting lots of global views from many countries.
Dirt Road Gun Show I was just kidding, but good strategy for getting more views.
He is in paris dude
Shits trippy... pisses me off were constantly being lied too
The story doesn't add up or there was a genocide, but more likely I would think a mud flood in which the people were buried in the buildings, and later dug up, everything cleaned up and the bones just stacked up/buried where they died. Likely, this will happen again with planet Nibiru closing in on us?
There is no scientific evidence supporting the existence of planet Nibiru.
There are no ghost in there 😂😂😂
Are you even sure of the reason of this?
Only takes 2km to ger through? It cant be big then
you can tell he just wanted to gtfo
Waauuu
Category : sports.
I see dead people...
I wanna smoke a joint before I go in there
*never ending dead people, kinda creepy*
Looks like human culling to me,that will be all of us soon...😱
WHY 6 MILLION !!!??? Why always THAT NUMBER????!!! Who COUNTED THEM ????!! How do we know it's "6" Million?????!!!!
Was there a cataclysm? Did they stack these bones all at once or over a period of time? Did they stack Body parts or already turned to bones??
What was happening at the time that made the cemetries overflow with the dead???
That's easy
French are meticulous and they known for each cemetary completely cleaned how many bodies were in.
Eventually, a final addition with all the cemetaries combined.
Before being here, those bodies had stayed in a real grave in a cemetery during centuries and centuries.
In 1785 they made the choice to bury deeper under Paris the ancient generations to let the new ones safer and cleaner
Repose en paix (Rest in peace)
There is 👻 ghost
Hell no bones about it being a shit load of bones, 6m over several segments across span of few centuries be aloooot of people
01:18 what?
Done it 😎
