I swear Roland is asking straight forward questions. I haven't heard a straight forward answer. Who are these people? I hate that this is sounding real fishy.
I was walking my dog and I believe the question asked was how much money the organization had. I listened to the man give a 3-minute (it felt like it) response. Either say you don’t know or give the number or use the figure from the last 990 prepared.

Roland implored these two to come on his show and explain the mansion’s existence. They have avoided him until now when they need publicity for this lawsuit. They cannot easily describe what their organization does. They cannot even say how much money they currently have. They give out grant money “to those they are in relationship with” and have no application process. They have a 6 million dollar creator space that hasn’t been used by creators and is only open to those they invite. They have a board of 3 members and despite having MILLIONS of dollars have only a dozen employees staffed by the company of one of its 3 board members. This sounds like an absurd scam that allows them to dole out millions of dollars to their personal network. They are playing around with money raised on the trauma of families for personal gain. I believe they thought they could come on and tell the audience that the ostensibly “white” Tides org was keeping BLM money and that the audience would reflexively take their side. Again they are using historical trauma for their own benefit. Their beef with Tides seems to be that they gave money to Cornell West’s vice president as opposed to giving it to them. They have all been bickering over this money that they have used for themselves! He claims they were giving money to grassroots chapters but we know that’s a lie. Our community cannot advance if we refuse to hold grifters like this accountable. In just the money they discussed in this interview, they had access to nearly 100 million dollars and what does our community have to show for it? They demand grace and claim that it takes time to set up an organization. It does NOT!!! If you can’t make it work in an organization that has 33 million dollars to lose then the problem is YOUR leadership. It’s not that hard to start an organization. It’s not hard to build an actual board of trustees. It’s not hard to set up financial controls, bank accounts, auditing and a proper organizational structure. This many years into BLM’s existence and they are “just getting their footing” to stand up their 501 3C is disgraceful. Our community could get reparations but it would all be wasted by leaders like these. They deserved to be destroyed with all of the fire Roland usually reserves for those he’s politically opposed to. There was too much understanding and too many refusals to hold them accountable. Roland started a creator space with much less than 6 million dollars and he has a 24 hr network. They build a creator space that they’ve held 3 events at and are essentially using the house for personal needs. This is shameful.

Old folks used to say.."If I ask you a simple question...give me a simple answer...and if you can't in a couple of sentences it's malarkey." Roland asked plain questions they did worse than not answer, I found them being very manipulative and spin a lot of Roland's question. Something seems aloof.
Roland you can't compare them with NAACP and Urban League 😅. Those organizations have been around for over at least forty+ years. I hope things work out for them.

Why would an organization with this amount of money have a board with 3 people? How are they generating this amount of money, but don't have legal representation. The fact that this gentleman is suggesting that they have a written contract and a "verbal" contract with Tides is problematic.
They have conflicts of interest all around, and even if the gentleman does not vote on "contracts", there are only 2 other people voting.
They keep saying what they can do, but they can't give a clear definition of what this space is for or its intended functional use. They are siting examples how they have used it. Artist and resident sounds like people sharing a living space. I'm not understanding why there is a need for a house with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. It would seem to me that an organization would have a need for a facility that has functional space, not a family residence.
