It would not surprise me one bit if it was Peter Sellars, that being said, after just googling it I found out it was produced by Francisco Negrin in 2005. I would recommend you do some research into why it was staged this way before just dismissing an entire production. If it's not for you that's fine, but a lot of people worked hard on this.
