NGL, after watching the video, I don't think Luke got away with it. No more disjointed aerials/C. MP. Those nerfs are litterally all I want to Luke. Fishing for c. mp in neutral has reduced damage is more than I wanted. I'm satisfied, ngl

They saw 19+ Luke's at capcom cup and said yeah thats fine
There was 17+ Ken's at CPT too and that mofo got even more buff.
If shoto characters are T0, this is expected, because most of the players like shoto.
shoto is the most popular archtype, so more pros would pick shoto if shoto are T0/T1.
In the contrary, why so many pros pick luke/ken but the top8 still got 6+ different characters in the big tournamets?
Doesn't this in turn prove that these characters are not as strong as everyone thinks?

I think you suffer from s1 Luke PTSD to be honest 😂. He is clearly nerfed and you try to find some big scary things where there are none. For instance, his OD fb gaining "a third of super meter", that's not even close lol. Anyway, we will see who ends up on top at the end of this season. My bet is on AKI. And I just hope that my main Ed gets some real buffs in a couple of months so that he can keep up with the rest of the cast now.

I wouldn’t say he’s in his own tier anymore, but he’s top 5 now for sure. Ken is officially better now. This is what y’all wanted btw when you kept complaining about luke

It's unsafe on block so nobody uses that move without cancelling it anyway, so I doubt this will matter a lot.
It matters a lot actually because you get big rewards out of it now on a punish counter/counter hit. Its a forward moving relatively fast move.

@@MCMuraFGC Hm, sorry if I'm confused but on counter hit it would be +3 which doesn't link into anything, and if you have a punish counter you'd go into flash knuckle on reaction anyway?

I’m a Luke main. 1900 mr….luke st. Hp isn’t a big deal. Mainly use it during shimmies. That’s already a punish counter. You can whiff punish with it but that’s still a “punish counter”. Maybe one or two situation where cr. Hp won’t reach but very rarely.
how are you feeling about the changes a few weeks out?
the tackle change is like maybe the biggest buff I think cause it's +3 in throw range after light knuckle, meaning you don't have to drive rush for oki anymore after light knuckle
The oppponent can reversal that on reaction, its not that good

Luke got nerf very hard, most of the buff for Luke are useless except of 5HP
214HP perfect have one more frame maybe is designed for safe jump, a compensate for 2MP nerf
DDT is a nice round ender since it could build a lot of meter, but in most of the times the players would not prefer DDT because it would lost the chance of corner carry
Corner carry is much more important than damage, even the damage is less than 1000 I would prefer corner carry.
In high level match up I don't believe there would have players like to use 236K to close the gap on neutral, it is too slow, like asking your rival to punish you if you throw this move in neutral. I guess this just give luke a bette oki after flash knuckle combo
Ken a lot of small buff, Ryu huge buff, Akuma always the best character when it first come out

Capcom has a hard on for luke theres no other explanation. Whats more irritating is that hes braindead to play so players you know are worse than you can steal games from you by picking him up. At least chun requires execution. Definately dropped the ball on this one.

They basically did exactly what i thought they were gonna do the stand hp, ddt and tackle buffs are just bonuses. Im not angry with any of these changes
They did nerf his lvl 3 invincibility which means no more hard reads on fireballs from full screen, could hurt him in the long run

The training wheels allegations are even worse after the M knuckle buff and stHP still comboing into overcharged L knuckle.
I dont know if i missed it or not, but i don't think you talked about the invincibility nerf on pale rider. How impactful do you think that nerf will be? I swear Lukes use that move a lot to overpower people (also for big combos), so i am curious to see if that 😂is something they will not go for anymore.
Concerning medium flash knuckle being safe on block. I think it’s fair. The reward for doing it isn’t as huge anymore off of drive rush cancel. Wouldn’t make sense to keep the risk the same anymore.
Players being rewarded for fucking up is always a bad idea.
@@Nyagro it’s not a reward he gets nothing from fucking up. He’s just safe on block that’s all.
The risk/reward argument doesn’t apply for moves that are exclusively (or close to it) used for combos. There is no risk, there is only your ability to do the combo right. Intentionally giving the player safety despite dropping a combo (which is something the other player can’t directly influence) is like adding training wheels.
@@maaziqbal357 It does in Luke's case since perfect knuckle takes a lot more execution. We've seen pros like MenaRD, NL, Kawano and Chris Wong Drop these combos, but it's worth it since it leads to a lot of damage. Now they've Nerfed that damage so there's no point for it to be that risky. Also, I don't get why you guys are so angry, it's still your turn, Just don't spam drive impact and you're good, it's not that serious.

He literally got hit everywhere it matters.
Cr.mp increased scaling. B.hk combo routes nerfed. Anti air normal nerfed. Jump heavies nerfed. Cr.mk more whiff punishable, nerfed. St.mk nerfed, made slower. Heck, even cr.lp, his only chainable normal nerfed, reduced hitbox.
What more nerfs did you want, lmao.
He got a buff for every nerf he got.
The cr.MP one is sure a bit weaker but its still an amazing move with this range and 6 frames.
B.HK routes aren't really nerfed that badly since DR B.HK > St.HP works and he get Perfect Knuckles out of that now.
Cr.MK is universal, his cr.LP is still one of the longest reaching in the game.
cr.HP is a nerf but let's be real, should have never been this insane of an AA when he got a DP
Let's take a look at what he got instead,
He got st.HP > Perfect combos that makes whiff punishing with a forward moving long range advancing move more rewarding.
He got the 2 part OD Fireball that now does almost an entire gauge on a PC ie ( When you use in a fireball war)
He got almost full screen safer run shoulder.
He got combos to DDT doing obscene damage now AND he builds a ton of super gauge with it, and remember that Luke got the best lvl 1 super in the game.
Now compare him to the other strong characters that got nerfed like Deejay, JP, Chun or Cammy and you will see that Luke got handed much better cards, especially since he was widely considered the strongest in the game already.
season 2 will have even less TOP 8 diversity, YES! EXCITING!
CPT and EVO Japan has 6+ characters in TOP8/TOP6
