    Thank you for showing the use of this tool.
    Yes, this hobby is very dusty.
    One should use a
    Dust mask.
    I worked in a company where dust was generated from engraving. The worker initially worked without a mask until she collapsed and fell off her chair. After that, she always wore the mask to work.

    where would you recommend looking for a single bit replacement (multiple of those) it's one of the high quality diamond bits in the additional drill kit. What bit would you use for egg shells??
    I decorate all sorts of stuff, but I'm asked about eggs, every blue moon, but NEVER EVER tried engraving one.

    Would you recommend this for a total novice like me?

    • @UncleFrogface
      @UncleFrogface  2 роки тому +1

      I think it would be great for any skill level. I’ve seen it used on egg shells (and it’s on my list to try). I would say any of the diamond bits with work. The carbide tips would be too harsh. Lowest power setting and take it gently.

    QUESTION
    Hi! I am completely new to all this, and I don't know if you can answer this question.
    Is there a massive difference between this Culiau pen compared to all the other "identical" pens on amazon that costs less than half the price of the Culiau pen?
    And don't just say, "It is more expensive, so it must be better", because as we know today many companies takes extra money just because of the label of their company etc. Hehe!

    • @UncleFrogface
      @UncleFrogface  Рік тому +3

      I can absolutely answer that question. Culiau hold several patents for the customizer which aren’t part of the cheaper pens. The parts, battery life and torque of the pen are all far superior to the cheaper knock off brands. Essentially, this is like the difference between a posca paint marker and a generic dollar store paint marker. They might look the same, but the experience is vastly different.
      Also, Culoau is a growing brand in the craft sector who actually care about the customer experience. There customer services have always been great and they will happily answer any questions people have.
      I hope that helps. 😉

    The main one I was really hoping to see was carving into metal. You mentioned it at the beginning but never actually did it. Is that a no? I’m curious about pewter or aluminum.

    • @UncleFrogface
      @UncleFrogface  2 роки тому

      You’re right, I had it there and completely overlooked it. But yes, I did try the aluminium sharpener and it worked just fine.

    • @alierem4266
      @alierem4266 Рік тому

      'Aluminium sharpener?'.
      Any tool will mar pewter as it is one of softer metals.
      Any burr in any rotating tool will engrave or mark pewter.
      All you will need is mastery in controlling the 'pen' as if an ordinary writing tool..However you will find it highly challenging to use it in the sense of good looking calligraphy quality work so much exercise needed before venturing into pewter engraving.

    Do you think I could use this tool to cut the die pieces apart & smooth off the burrs ... if so which attachment/s would you suggest please?

    • @UncleFrogface
      @UncleFrogface  2 роки тому

      Whilst it not a cutting tool, there are cutting attachments on their website. However, the adaptor is a good call as you can then also use standard dremel bits. For the deburring though, yes I think this would work. One of the 30 included bits is bound to be what you need. I use the flat bar to deburr 3d prints.

    I was wondering if it carves different eggshells well. The picture on the website is not high quality engraving of an eggshell. It’s just some holes in a chicken egg. Can you show something more decorative on an egg that is harder than a chicken egg. For example, goose, rhea, emu or ostrich eggs would be ideal. If you need pieces of these eggshells for demonstration, let me know and I can send you some scraps of each. Thank you.

      I am certain it would. It would need to be a slow, patient process because eggshells are so fragile, but it's really an amazing, little tool. As with any other material, keep the bit & shell cool. If you feel the Culiau heating, give it a break. Don't charge a hot tool. 😉☺️
