This is just wonderful and marvolous! I love how their wonderful voices match in this beautiful and pure Donizzettian Duet. Renée Fleming it is, for me, one of the best opera singers ever and she's such an exquisite artist. Her voice is just wonderful and fantastic, one of the best voices ever. she has a really beauriful angel's voice. She's the best Lucrezia Borgia and for me one of the best Belcanto singers ever (this is a demonstration of her beauriful Belcanto style, because her she's perfect.) I really like also Giordani's beautiful timbre and Rizzi Brignoli's direction. I really like this opera and VIVA DONIZZETTI!!!
Wonderful!!! One of my absolute favourite duets. She really was outstanding! Just now watched her Met recitel live and she did very well. Better than expected actually. Really enjoyed. She uses what she has and to me that’s HEAVEN.😍
chaan280 Yes, she does use,”What she has”, and she has quite a bit! Why did you say that her MET live concert today was, “Better than expected”? What were you expecting? I thought it was fabulous!
@@janetflier6192 I presume because she is 61, and her vocal estate is not what it was (as is to be expected). In her prime she was an unrepeatable miracle. Now she is a wonderful singer. I'm looking forward to seeing clips from the recital. What was the repertoire?
Glad it was good! And she really has worked hard to keep her voice and can still sing amazingly well. "She uses what she has and to me that’s HEAVEN." Beautifully put, and that is truly all that can be asked for.
Janet Flier I was just being honest. Her instrument changes with the times but some things I even like better now. In my book she is no 1 and there is noone who can move me more. Just love her to bits❣️Thanks for asking!😊
@@chaan280 What was the highlight? I just watched the O mio Babbino which someone uploaded, touching, though she was running out of breath in most phrases.
Hello! I want to say thank you for your channel. Today, on Renée’s birthday. Your knowledge and love for her work, which you share with us, is very inspiring.Thank you!
I've heard most people say fleming was ill suited to bel Canto to which I completely disagree .. I must agree with Maestra Eve Queler that Renee has all the elements of a great Bel Canto voice.. Something in her voice screams "bel canto"... She is to me the best Borgia and Imogene.. I also love her Amina and Armida... And I adore her Rosmonda.
I agree! She add a few too many expressive additions for some people, but I love them, and fundamentally hers was the greatest soprano bel canto voice of the last 40 years - incredible range from dark chest, to ringing high notes, incredible control of the legato line, endless vocal colours, rhythmic incisiveness, dramatic purpose and intent in every phrase.
I'm sorry for spamming here. I tried to answer to your question on other channel under the "Già nella notte densa" video. But it seems that answer was prefiltered and didn't appeared there. That excerpt was from the Gala Concert for Carlo Menotti in Spoleto. Recording can be found on the operaonvideo. Renée sang a couple of other things there. I'll send you a link if you need.

Nicola Messori so glad you like it! I love her Borgia too. I have posted many clips on this channel of her bel canto - her Pirata, Armida too.
This duet is pure heaven. Great voices great singing especially Renee.
