She is absolutely sublime. What a soprano? Oh that fabulous voice. I agree she is much better than Sutherland in this role. What a lovely rendition of a beautiful piece of music. Her voice is just floating on the breath. That's what's singing is al about and she does it so perfect 🥰.

Brilliant singing! She makes sense of the emotion of he scene both through her voice and her acting. Her variations do not draw attention to themselves but are extremely difficult nevertheless - she sings them immaculately.
Magnifique air final ,chanté avec beaucoup de fioritures parfaitement maîtrisées .Des trilles éblouissants .Le contre mi bémol final spectaculaire. Bravo ,bravo !!!!

@@yurizivago3641 Sutherland performed this area with very good diction, that her pronunciation was (always) bad is poor, idiotic legend. And technically speaking she was at least as good as Devia who, anyway, is all impeccable, icy technique. Operatic singing is much more.

E poi: "in tante e meglio di lei"? Si fa presto a scriverlo: fuori i nomi. Manco se ti ci metti col lanternino li trovi.
Dear Michael Dr.zahl, Ms. Devia at some point used this first name, Mirella, and I've seen some recordings with this name.
Hi I was called Mirella apparently because of an opera singer I come from an Italian family.how many Mirellas are there? Besides Freni and this lady?
@YVRopera I saw her live in Traviata in 2008 in Ancona and in a belcanto recital here in Rome and she was simply gorgeous. She gets better and better with the age :D

Non ha Nulla da invidiare a Nessuna...va dritta per la sua strada ...un'artista che in teatro non mi ha mai deluso ...poichè sempre preparatissima e molto incisiva...avendo ascoltato anche la Ricciarelli a Bologna...con un approccio diverso..ma forse in uno dei suoi momenti migliori...mi chiedo chi le possa sostituire.(..A Vienna ho ascoltato una Lucrezia Borgia con due Donne splendide---- ...cinematografica...ma ....ecc ecc..sembrava un musical...applauditissime....se...però...(.la stessa protagonista in Tosca...più convincente?)....
L'unica che in questo ruolo tiene il confronto con la Stupenda Dame Joan. E non sono neanche sicuro che la seconda, proprio in questo caso, la superi di molto.

great until the coloratura and "trills"
This is wonderful. But I don't put it ahead of sutherlands like everybody else here seems to. Sutherland had a much bigger voice much more dramatic. Much stronger on the low notes and she was a much better actress. Plus she was the queen of trills and our lady here is not quite as good on the trills
