Like Ed sacrificing his arm for Al, Scar’s brother sacrificed his arm for scar 💔
This part of the episode always brings me to tears 😢
This is also why when Scar was attacked by Lust and Gluttony earlier, the first thing he asked about was if this arm was still with him, because it was a “precious gift from [his] family.”

Wowwwww that’s super cool, so much to do with Scar I haven’t picked up on! Just when you think its just the tattoos or the knowledge his brother had, no its his entire arm!!

@@MattReactsToThings yeah, not just the tattoos from his brother’s arms, it’s his brother’s actual physical arm gifted to Scar 💔
I have siblings, I’m not sure I’d give my arm up for them 😅 it must be a special bond between these brothers though

Man this episode is so damn good. The scene of Scar's brother telling him he won't let him die mirroring Ed when he brought back Al's soul is so good. And then Scar walking up the hill and seeing the destruction is some of my favorite Imagery in the entire show. Very powerful.
    Love the reaction man!

I did not even pick up on the parallel between the two sets of brothers! I might have mentioned something about Scar sympathising with Ed and Al as brothers in this episode or the next, but the arm and Scar’s brother not letting him die is just *chef’s kiss*
      Thanks for your support!!

Another heavy episode, can write an essay about the themes at play. The crossing of paths of Bradly and Ling, along with Scar and Winry... everyone being tested, others have said what I might perfectly already.
I'll say it's nice seeing Ling in action, finally getting a taste of his character outside of his laid back attitude, like a switch was flipped. Feel Bradly can do the same, from his warm and friendly manner of speaking to that dominating and intimidating presence.
Scar still having a hint of humanity, despite the overwhelming tragedy of his character... That's war for ya, it's hard to place exact blame when everyone is a pawn in someone else's game, I can't fault Scar for what he's done, but his masters words echoing in his mind... A debt for such a terrible act against his people needs to be paid, but should it be paid in blood? And poor Winry, faced with the same question.
Fun fact, voice actor for scars brother in Japanese is Takehito Koyasu, same person who voices Zeke Yeager in AOT.. I've got a bit of a blind spot when it comes to voice actors, but I noticed him the moment I heard Zeke haha.

Really was a fantastic episode. One I think I have thought about more than any of the ones preceding it thus far.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Oops, All Bangers! This is such a good episode, so emotional. Feeling the weight of reality hit Scar when Winry screams at him all the while the words of his mentor echo in his mind. You can see the switch click in his mind and you have to wonder, where is he going to go from here? Keep up the good reactions, I love to hear your thoughts about the show.

The "gasp" when you realized scars brother gave up his arm for scar was the reaction I wanted from you lol such a good scene.
Scars background and character all around is so complex and intriguing. Like on one hand you can sympathize with scar for what he thinks is right for the way the war destroyed not just his home but his people and literally his family, but on the other hand just cause tragedy has struck you it still doesn't give him the right to kill especially innocent people that had nothing to do with the war itself. Sure he was in a fit of rage and confusion, but it still doesn't absolve him from the crime he committed and he even understands it as well.

I love characters like Scar that really make you question things like that. You just know there’s something deeper going on with him.

This scene is the best Ed and Winry scene for me (there have been many and more to come) but this one is perfect.
Ed is a clumsy, impulsive and reckless boy, Al was just trying to kill time when Ling's signal appeared, but the thing is that Ed was carrying the news of the Rockbell murderers since his visit to the ruins of Xerxes, that he couldn't keep quiet. However, just as Ed is reckless, he is also a very sweet and empathetic boy, he tells Winry the exact words to try to comfort her. That final panel of Winry crying inconsolably and Ed hugging her is devastating, whether you like it or not, it stirs a lot of feelings inside you, and then shows Ed's face full of pain and anger at seeing Winry cry that way.
I should also mention that Edward's voice actor does it magnificently, you can hear all the character's emotions in a subtle and concise way: fear, sadness, pain, softness... it's wonderful.
Ishval was a people who did not usually practice alchemy due to their belief that the only creator is God, and alchemy was a kind of "rebellion" for them. So when Scar's brother mentions that "the alchemy of this place is wrong" he is referring to the alchemy of Amestris, since he also practiced Alchaestria, he knew what he was talking about. In fact, his alchemy is more of a combination of alchemy and alchaestry, which is how he was able to join his arm to Scar, since alchaestry has medical applications.
fma is the story of parallelisms. You can find them everywhere and they are quite interesting because you show different perspectives and situations. For example, the parallelism of Bradley and Ling, and their confrontation over what it means to be king. Or the parallel between Ed and Scar's brother, both mindlessly giving their right arms to save the lives of their younger brothers.
Great reaction, see you next time.
    P.d poor cat 😢

Parallels and comparisons are where its at. Any reference to anything always ticks a massive box for me and this show is nailing it. Probably the realest moment in the show between Ed and Winry here and there have been a lot of big moments already.
