    My '98 started felt like it lost power steering one day, but it was the U joint on the steering shaft that was almost seized up. Soaked it down with lube and it was fine again.

    I set my SN95 up with the Hydro to the stock rear calipers, then blocked off the factory line at the ABS module. So not the pedal only controls the front brakes. Wicked setup for subtle left foot stuff! I only have two events under my belt, but really loving how the Mustang handles!

    • @RatchetstrapMedia
      @RatchetstrapMedia  5 років тому +3

      That's not that good to do. You'll actually loose braking control, and most tracks will fail you for tech inspection if the see that. I would run it in line at least so that you can actually use your rear brakes with the pedal. A lot of rules state that the pedal must operate all 4 brakes. You can run a proportioning valve of you run the hydro inline, which will allow you to set how much pressure you want the hydro to go to the rear brakes. That completely fine. Think about it. :)

    • @BradenCarlsonAutos
      @BradenCarlsonAutos 5 років тому

      @@RatchetstrapMedia It's a fairly common practice in cars that only see the track. The brake feel is a lot different at speed, but the few times I have taken it on the street, it isn't really noticable.
      My reason for doing it was specifically to avoid running it inline. If the master on the hydro blows, you lose ALL your brakes when you're inline. I'd much rather at least have the front. Yes dual caliper is the better option here, but the outcome of running front only is not very impactful.

    • @RatchetstrapMedia

    • @RatchetstrapMedia
      @RatchetstrapMedia  5 років тому +2

      Stage 2 you can street drive just like a normal car. But stage 3 is weird because you have close to zero Ackerman. Meaning that your tires turn the same amount on corners. I don't street my car anymore because it's annoying to be honest. I have solid heim joints everywhere so it's a rough ride. But you can certainly do it.

    How are your front shock towers holding up? I've heard of mushrooming issues.
    I'm hesitant to switch over to coilovers as those towers are not designed to be pushed up by the springs.

    Angle kits cost too much..... why not remove your steering rack limiter??? I did and no issues. I didn’t just remove but cut half of it off so the tires wouldn’t rub.

    • @RatchetstrapMedia
      @RatchetstrapMedia  5 років тому +2

      Because. As you progress, you get faster. As you progress you drive with better people. The faster you go, the more angle you need to sustain high angle entries, and sharper corners and transitions. Gotta pay, to play.

    • @ClassyLyfeStylellc
      @ClassyLyfeStylellc 5 років тому

      John Ratchetstrap I agree, pay to play. Build it, break it than fix it 😂 but I’ve never had any issues with the way I set it up for angle. One day I’ll be able to afford the parts I want but till than this is garage diy

    • @RatchetstrapMedia
      @RatchetstrapMedia  5 років тому +2

      Absolutely. I started with a stock car. I eventually got to the point where I couldn't progress because the car was holding me back. Learn to drive before you over build, and make bad habits.

    • @ClassyLyfeStylellc
      @ClassyLyfeStylellc 5 років тому

      Original stock angle is 30 left 20 right if I remember correctly. Now it’s a 40 left 38 right. I love the video though bro, Steering angle goals🙌🏼✌🏼 I been driving for 24 years drifting. 10 years racing. Just have kids now so I can’t build cars like I used to, gotta go cheap to play now a days 😂

    • @PinkShooze
      @PinkShooze 5 років тому +1

      The irishDEV1L Angle kits not only add angle but also make the steering quicker. Just removing the steering rack limiter won’t do much since you’ll have to rotate the wheel like 5 or 6 full rotations every transition, and that’s not something you’re gonna want to do
