Lyrically, for me, this resonates with love lost, how we view those we no longer have and how we view ourselves through their eyes. Heartbreakingly beautiful.
Such intense pain. I hope you are feeling it easing a bit. It does. Likely the scar will ache from time to time, but it Does scar over. It helps to be able to see what would have not gone well. For those who are wondering why the song seems so unpredictable, (and for slight music theory nerds) the song switches between what I make out to be four different time signatures. 4/4, 3/4, 6/4 and 5/4. I think this really sells the floaty feeling of the song. What is EXTREMELY impressive, is how the entire orchestra is locked in on this like machines. Usually, it's the drummers job to keep the subdivisions in check, but since there are no drums here the violinists and flute players take that role. If even one person had started or ended a beat too soon, everyone would notice. The difference between this outstanding live performance and the recording of the song is immeasurable, in my opinion. And it's not that the recording was bad, either. It's just that with the live instruments the depth of the composition is so amplified. To me it shows the physical passion that gets lost between a recording and a performance with real musicians. The least we could do is help to dust each other off and help whomever we can “even the growth of a frail flower driven up has shattered and split boulders, and enough money has left good enough men weak and withered, dead years before they’re ever buried”
I’ve been there, life will knock u down hard. But just when u think u can’t take anymore, life throws u something worth living for every day ❤
Gorgeously haunting. Where are the other songs like this? The mere idea that songs like this one await discovery is exhilarating.
Something that isn't with an orchestra but that I would still check out is VOLA - "24 Light Years" and "Gutter Moon". I definitely get similar vibes as this. Something beautiful and sad, let me know what you think. I'll try and think up other stuff
Check out some of Tame Impalas “Changes” “Different Person, Same Old Mistakes” “The Less I Know”, and the Cinematic Orchestra “To Build a Home”
@@patrickdillon500to build a home YES!!!!
definitely check out Ships + Tides by Onerepublic .
Patrick Watson, robot love, you'll love it!
Music does not get better than this. To have been there live.
I'd give anything to have been there, not just any lice concert BUT this exact one. Breathtaking even from this video, I can only imagine how the audience felt.
The difference between this outstanding live performance and the recording of the song is immeasurable, in my opinion. And it's not that the recording was bad, either. It's just that with the live instruments the depth of the composition is so amplified. To me it shows the physical passion that gets lost between a recording and a performance with real musicians. Such a beautiful song. Thanks!
This is the most spellbinding piece of music I have heard in a very long time.
5:05 that transition is straight fire.
I've just found this through tiktok and I cannot put into words how I feel. This is the most incredible music performance I've ever heard. I would do anything to hear this live 😭
Me too, heard the song on Rick and Morty, I've been listening to the actual song since last year and I heard this live on TikTok tonight...came straight here
Just to open your mind ua-cam.com/video/t7_ASyCKjqc/v-deo.html
@@masterofmyownwrld literally exactly the same, heard it first on Rick and morty and didn't think much of it but then I saw the live version on tiktok and immediately transcended so I had to find the original
Same here … never heard and saw on TikTok… then quick Google and through a mad internet coincidence he’s touring in two months in my city… tickets booked!
@@Cafuski so luckyyyyyy
Kudos to the Rick and Morty folks always digging up some true gems! Surely I was not the only one who missed out on this initially, so indeed thank you!!
What a fantastic addition with the Nu Deco Ensemble
What do you know about true gems Jerry?!
link some more songs?
why haven't I heard about this song before.
ikr, I immediately searched it up after the last episode
Right?
Reminder that this exists
Music is the food of soul and this is the haute cuisine of music
Holy shit I was so caught off guard to hear this in R&M
Reminds me of when they used the chaos chaos song Do you feel it. It blew me away when they did that, my fav song by chaos chaos is Blue.
Also the original song Don't look back that was made for rick and morty is amazing
@@jamesramplin8124 same here those two are the best from their soundtrack so far, all others are gold but for shits and giggles I'll bump terifolds once and awhile to fuck with people

Sometimes you search for beauty...
...But sometimes you stumble upon it quite by accident and it's all the more wonderful for being so unexpected!
Me rn 😌
Rick and Marty brought me here. We love you Morty, stay strong soldier🥲
"One for my heart and two for show
Three tears for all the souls below
One day we made them into figurines
Burned them all with all my favorite things"
Dear Lord the poetry. 😭
4 minutes 53 seconds when Kishi and the lady violinist are both utterly in sync with one another in the frame. Such a beautiful and powerful piece of music. I can't stop listening. Thank you for this collaboration.
What’s the lady violinist’s name?
The passion and joy in his face whilst singing the last chorus
This is why we live, to experience such beauty. 6mins of bliss
6 mins? At least 500 min on my track record
Kishi Bashi is so talented and underrated, I wish people listened to his other songs as well.
This is Gonna Get so Many NEW Hits after years... Thank you RICK & MORTY What an Episode
I can't even lie, i teared up at this. This deserves all the recognition it's getting and more. Raw talent
This song has fully helped me understand myself, I'm autistic and I always feel like the antichrist to people hiding my unique view of the world and my unique personality from others, with Kishi Bashi blessing I got those exact words on me forever "I am the antichrist to you" to always realise there is a place on this world and you should always express who you are, never be scared to be yourself, never hide the real you!
I came here for the exact same reason, and for the same feelings. I am so happy that you exist 💜
This song deserved our attention.
And Rick and Morty gave it just that.
Thank you Kishi Bashi and Nu Deco ensemble for this song, and thank you adult swim for Rick And Morty
Literally insane.I am shocked. Thanks Rick and morty for discovering this masterpiece for me.
Rick and Morty got me here. The beauty and emotion made me stay. Thank you for this.
i am the antichrist to you is my favorite song of all time this is SO pretty if i was in the audience i would literally be crying holy shit
I'm always blown away anew upon realizing that music and singing can so easily evoke emotions and tears in me.
This is beautiful, I totally agree.
I'm not crying, you're crying.
I can't stop listening to this song. Absolutely everything about it is amazing!
Thank God we have song ID on our cell phones. Back in the day; you'd hear a gem, then it was lost in the ether. There's a lot of good songs that i heard years ago that were obscure that I'll never hear again. Lost and nameless songs, but songs I remember.
I think this is the song you hear while ascending to heaven
or while falling from heaven
So fuckinv true
Or hell 🙂
More like descending from it.
Heaven isn't real
Performance of a lifetime. How glad I am for the internet exists, to share experiences like this one with the rest of the world. Thank you.
The fact that he can sing and play violin so impeccably is taking my breath away >o
Let’s not only just appreciate the fact that this piece of perfection is not only in “Rick And Morty” but also 6 mins on the dot.
I can't get over the constant masterpieces he creates. He has got to be one of best musicians of our time
girl on the violin behind him absolutely crushing it
Wow, this is the most emotional melody I have ever heard in my nearly 48 years, and the orchestral arrangement was absolutely brilliant!
This is the most beautiful thing I’ve heard in a long long time
Same
Literally can't get enough of this song
This is a beautiful composition, and a perfect performance of what I can only describe as a magical experience. Being unfamiliar with the song, I clicked this video based on the thumbnail because I recognized a man singing with the utmost of passion in it, and my expectations have been exceeded exponentially.
There is so much beauty and pain in this song u can tell he put his very essence into every word and note of the song
this song made me feel feelings i haven't felt before. how?
same
lol that's what she said
But not about the song
Uncultured. No offense at all. We are all uncultured. But the more stuff you search/find the more you become "complete".
You found a piece of yourself you didnt know was apart of you.
And thats beautiful.
@@Halabaloban I was about to hate, but as I read on, the more respect I gained for you. Thank you.
She’s gone, mom.
I loved her so much.😭
Made me cry 😭 reminded me of myself lol
Man i got the same vibes from this song as the one at the end of the episode autoerotic assimilation.
My god. His voice is ethereal. I… have no other words for its beauty. Thank you.
whoever disliked this is willing to catch these hands
🤣
They dont want the smoke
Rick and Morty put me on. this song hit when planetina went into bloodlust mode
I know right
And in the ending I don’t know the music made the moment that morty cried feel so alive it nearly got me
True meaning of what heartbreak and no meaning of love when you know that you have to let go so you can heal
Brought me to tears.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written
This dude's voice is amazing, Im glad I found out about this.
Making a beautiful song even more beautiful , this blew me away this is pure musical genius condensed into one song .
One of those rare songs you just never want to end. I could genuinely listen to this keep playing and growing for so long, amazing
Yes a thousand times yes
Couldn't have said it better
That crescendo at 4 mins hit me hard. Incredible performance.
Normally when I hear live shows I always think they end up sounding worse than like the audio version but Dang Dang Dang this is really good
What a beautiful piece. Thank you for this composition. I revisit every month, and it never disappoints
4:45 onwards is so beautiful 🌬
Rick and Morty made me see you🥺
His voice makes me all warm and fuzzy inside its final made me realize that there's something that can make me happy out there and its this guy's voice

I cannot understate how good this song is
What a Rollercoaster of emotions. I can't even contain myself. Its so pure, so beautiful, words cannot describe this performance
Difficult to fathom how someone could be so talented... his singing is angelic
This is a masterpiece. Every note is perfect and where it needs to be to weave this little story, whether it's voice or string, brass, woodwind or percussion, everything is brilliantly executed. I can't stop listening to this.
I have to admit, I only came across this masterpiece because of Rick and Morty, but the talent, the emotion, thr skill just really engulf you in the music! What an absolute pleasure to listen to!
The most enjoyable episodes in Rick and Morty arent the scifi adventures but the Stories of the Characters and their development and decisions.
Yessss. I love rick not because he is a godlike charakter but because of his attitude towards being human nonetheless.
@@catjuzu especially in season 5 because he is sober, more human. It shows his emotions.

I found Kishi Bashi more than a decade ago through NPR tiny desk concert.
This version is my favourite, creates so much emotions, more than sad bunny ever could.
