Follow me Nerds, as I show you how I built this fun drinking game where you race to swing a ring onto hooks (it's a lot more fun than I make it sound haha).
Wood and Cuts:
3/4" Maple Plywood Base: 18" x 6-1/2"
Column: 2 - 1x2s glued together cut @ 14" tall
Top "T": 1x2 cut @ 24"

I love that you build awesome products with tools normal people can actually afford.
Haha it’s honestly a struggle sometimes. So much so that as I transition into more furniture builds I am planning on upgrading. Some of my cheaper tools have been inaccurate and cause hours of fixing or hiding mistakes. I’m upgrading my table saw to a SawStop for sure (I’ll be making a video on my reasons) and my miter saw as well. I do love a tool with a high value to cost ratio so that won’t change, but as for the main tools in my smaller shop I am going with the “buy once cry once” motto and expect these couple of tools to last me the rest of my life. (Fingers crossed).
I like wood. That game is in my future!

I would suggest making the tower notch into the base and booms so that everything stays perfectly perpendicular and square. Don’t want a slight angle to possibly affect the alignment of the rings and hooks.

Thank you! I used 2” but it mainly depends on the size of shot glasses you have. I’d use an oversized bit if possible.

What size screw hooks and eye hooks did you use?
Hey Lynley, I’m not sure on the actual sizes. The eye bolts are tiny, and the hooks are an average size you’d see for plant holders and such. If I can find the boxes I’ll reply here again, if not, you might have to take a screenshot of the video and eyeball it at a big box store (Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc...)
