That's totally my POV, Neil. I hate how people don't understand that Chatgpt or any AI, won't be able to produce quality content for years and so sites doing quality content will win SERPs amongs sites using only AI.

I know more about the US Hardwood lumber market than any NYT staff reporter. Yet, 2-3 paragraphs of block quotes from them crushes me without exception. (fortunately, they have no interest in writing about such mundane topics 😝) . I look forward to an algorithm which gives less weight to perceived authority. I understand why they do it, but it’s no longer 2010. Crap content is crap content, regardless of the domain it’s published on.

And I am afraid for those who will be left on a pavement of progress, chasm splitting society will grow even bigger, which will give a leverage for manipulation and propaganda.... But again, as it always was.
I think it's a bit flawed to assume that someone is going to use a chatbot to plan their entire vacation because they are too lazy to research anything. People spend thousands on a vacation. Any travel destination has a multitude of sites to see and things to do. A chatbot might recommend the most popular, but those won't appeal to everyone. Also people want to see the hotel they are going to be staying in, read the reviews, etc. It's the same with informational content. A lot of people want to see the site or source where it came from, as opposed to simply taking the chatbot's word for it.
They’ll have a discussion with the bot, the same as they would with their human assistant. When Elon Musk travels he doesn’t spin up a Google search to figure it out: he speaks to his assistant and they take care of everything. I don’t see anyone bothering with busywork like searching once we all have assistants we rely on every day.

The key takeaway is that you want to stay within a niche. Google like niches sites and you don't want to confuse your market audience :)
