    Select 15 teams from the National League North and 15 from the National League South. Give all of them 1 billion dollars and apply all the basic strategies that put them in the best position to advance. See how many of them advance to the top tier and how many of them are able to stay there. With 30 teams up and coming, does that mean the entirety of the top tier gets rewritten, or does something else happen? Which teams in the actual top tier would be able to survive, and would any of the 30 stay below the Championship level?

      I haven't play the game for a long time, when did Football Manager introduced Financial Fair Play? One thing I liked about the game is that there was no such thing as Financial Fair Play, first league licences etc. If you played with small team and qualified for Premier League (or some other first tier national league), you qualified, simply by result merits. I hate todays situation where (for example in my country Croatia) team gets 1st position in Second League, but failes to get license for First League. What's the point of competing then? Does this happen in the game too now?

All clubs are semi-pro, but 3 get into the early European qualifiers. The problem with attracting good players is that your club in the conference is not 'famous' enough. There is a fame/reknown setting for every club. Good players would want to go to a famous club. No amount of money will make them want to go to a club which is not famous.

  • @tanelkagan
    @tanelkagan 5 років тому

    If this were in real life, then assuming financial fair play etc did not apply the rise to the top would be much quicker.
    There would be enough top players nearing the end of their careers, or not getting enough games at their existing clubs, on free transfers or available for nominal sums, that you could offer £50k a week to. You'd pack out the team with a standard that is at least 2-3 leagues above the team's current level. £50k a week for (say) 15 players would be a little under £40M a year, which would be a mere 4% of the funds available.
    For those sorts of wages you can also attract players from the 2nd tier (and in some cases the top tier) of other European leagues, many of whom would again be of a far higher standard than the Conference North/South, Conference National or even League Two. Many players in La Liga Segunda Division, Serie B, 2.Bundesliga and Ligue 2, as well as the top two divisions of maybe Portugal, Holland, Czech Republic, and others, would not be earning £50k a week. They would run away with the semi-pro leagues in the first couple of seasons.
    Once in League 2/League 1, you'd have the pick of any player at that level, and if you wanted to pay £100k or even £150k a week to take top players from the Championship or Premier League, or other top leagues, you could. If you had a squad of 25 with the average wage £100k a week, and even if there was zero money coming in, you'd still be looking at an annual wage bill of £130M, meaning that you'd easily have 4 or 5 years to assemble a Premier League level squad and establish yourself.

  • @TheLeoBianco1
    @TheLeoBianco1 5 років тому

    One of the reasons the team plateaus is because of the low reputation they start off with. It prevents them from attracting big players no matter how rich the club is. Eventually it will rise, but if it started off high the rise would be meteoric.

    your conclusion is not correct, the billion doesent do anything, wellingtons achievments have been tied to the implementation of a frontend sugar daddy as financial fairplay rules do not allow to spend muchmore money then the income generates + a league depending bonus by the sugar daddy. thus if you want a fast promotion you´ll have to setup a sponsoring deal granting 100mil each year for 100 years with this granted inccome you´ll see promotions nearly every year.

    The problem with massive cash injections are that they don't increase the market size much for the team in the long term. It increases a bit of course, but with Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham etc all on their doorstep Welling are going to struggle to gain market and stabilise the massive long term regular income they need to sustain a player base costing hundreds of millions. , most fans don't swap allegiance.
    Football fans if anything are generational. Father to son. So their long term income is locked at a relatively low level. 1 billion £ sounds a lot. but at the moment, it wouldn't buy you the 25 top players Barcelona have registered... never mind pay for facilities and wages. And the income for such a small market club would mean the balance would just drop year on year.
    In other words this experiment is a scaled up version of Blackburn United in the 1990's the SaS era.

    It's a good idea, but it's such a bizarrely uncontrolled and unfocused experiment that it fails as a video. Maybe some organisation (when to pause the holidays, what to check and keep us updated on, etc) and some structure would make this more watchable. Lots of potential though, keep it up!

    Tbh , was 2 seasons in to starting with York before the laptop died cause was a cheap refurb and sucked but you can get to league two in 2 seasons only signing frees from the England trials and released players almost too easily , was quite disappointed in the lack of challenge till I hit league two , suspect theres an element that pushes you to the full pro leagues tbh then kicks out once you do if you dont rush to join a bigger team... maybe a loyalty bonus I dont know. Almost sold the game after three weeks as it felt so easy to that point.
    I'm not sure money really matters down that end of the tables

    Swap a Champions League team with a geographically very nearby Conference North/South team.
    So for example put Salford in Premier League and Champions League, one of the Manchester clubs in Conference North and not in European competition, and do absolutely NOTHING else to the teams, stadium wise, finance wise, players wise, etc. See what happens.

    A lot of why it takes so long is FFP. Even with a billion in the bank, it's not something you can just endlessly spend with. Revenue still has to be made, so even with all the money in the world, you can't spend unless money is coming in.
