I love you Eugene and the Jive Five! My parents introduced me to your beautiful voices when I was young. I'm 46 years old now and I still love you all and am so happy to hear your beautiful voices today. God Bless you all for all the joy you bring to my heart listening to your songs. Loving you in California!
Eugene Pitt and the Jive Five invented what is known as "Street Corner Harmony" and they depict the epitome of excellence in that category. Their music will last forever. Thank you, Mr. Pitt, for the great memories you have given me. rjrivera.
Why do so many mediocre and talentless people make millions from the music business while guys like this don't? These old r&b vocalists never seem to lose their touch - god bless them all!
1965 Jive five came to small town in NJ named Caldwell along with group Candy & The Kisses ( they sang song " the 81" ) ,I got to talk to them, the Jive Five in the schools looker room. Never forget that night.
Agreed. It's a shame they don't have millions upon millions of dollars... not that that's truly what makes us happy... or them... you can see/tell that they just love, love love performing... seeing the smiles on the faces of their listeners, reminiscing, believing, just remembering the good times.
Check out Aaron Neville's new album dedicated to Doo Wop. It's called 'My True Story'. And none other than the great Eugene Pitt sang background on Neville's album, especially this Pitt written song.
@resqume853 Gene and the group appear often in the northeast. They will also be on the bill for an Oldies cruise out of Florida in December. There's a Facebook Fan Group. Check it out.
i guess i just do not understand the evolution of music....this song and the songs of this era were go great......how can the rap of today compare their music to this?

r.i.p. ronnie i, my opinion greatest grp/lead of the 60's
I did get to watch them perform at Foxwoods on August 2, 2014 and i was not disappointed. Incredable show that included the Mystics Jimmy Clanton
would love to meet this man and his group and watch them perform
Soulful singing
I love, really love this song. Did Eugene ever fall in love again?
