- Welcome to the Fret Frontier! In this episode we explore the Pepe Romero Creations DH6-SM mini guitar. This is a baritone sized guitar that is tuned E to E and uses nylon strings. Thank you. You did a lot of research for this. Interesting about the pick up. You play beautifully. It’s a unique instrument that has an amazing sustain. I have a “tiny tenor” guitarlele, tuned A to A. My biggest gripe with it is that it is really hard to string. The strings have to be threaded through the holes from the inside which is not fun as it takes a lot more time and fiddling around.
@GoodieWhiteHat - YES!! What were they thinking on the string threading!? Agree 100%. I also don’t like the pin bridge style on the nylon string guitar for the same reason. end up having to pull them through the sound hole and knot them up to keep them secure. Supposedly this style helps the bridge last longer as the strings pull through the body instead of on the bridge itself, and I have had the bridge lift due to that on my Cordoba mini EB but the odds are low for that if they were seated well in the first place, right? so with a handmade guitar is there really any value in driving us nuts with through the body strings? 🤪.. Hopefully it is a fad that won’t continue, looks tidy I suppose but yikes. Thank you for your comment. Very good point. 🎶🎶

Though I've stopped playing the guitar years ago simply because I failed… now you made me want to give it another try. But of course with exactly all the things you showed today. Great video. Thank you for showing everything in detail.
@Teeum5 - Hi Rici, thank you for the kind comment. Oh yes, grab a guitar and get back to it! In fact, if you have a baritone Uke, you already can play the first 4 strings of the guitar making you more than half way there! 😃🎶
@@fretfrontier Yes, I have baritone but was going to sell it as my tiny little fingers don‘t feel comfortable on its neck 😂

Hi, it’s 2 inches. So the adjustment from playing a full size classical feels immediate - all those micro movements in your left and right hand, sooo comfortable. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching! 🎶🎶
@bullroarertook - yikes, you said ‘bridge’ not ‘nut’.. that bridge measurement is 2 1/4. (I shouldn’t answer comments till after my first cup of coffee ☕️)

@@fretfrontier 100% was very well composed! I often like to imagine my compositions being as succinct as the ones in this vid. If you did post tabs of your improvisations occasionally I'd love to peruse them. The instrument in the vid was also a very curious thing and I knew I needed to see what was up.
@SassyTesla - thank you for the feedback, I am working on a guitar lesson episode series on how to create your own open chord voicing improvisations in the key of A. This one was in the key of E, so I’ll see what I can do with this as well. i’ll probably do that series on this guitar because I think it really shines on those open voicings!
Hi! I really love your channel. I own Cordoba Mini II and I like the guitar very much. Since I saw this video, I tried to find how I can buy one of these Romero Creations D-Ho 6 strings model. However, I found out that they don’t ship to Japan, where I live. I don’t know why some guitars are not shipped overseas by US retailers. Are there any ways I can purchase this guitar? Do they allow me to buy the guitar in the US and bring it back to Japan? I really appreciate if you have any suggestions. Again, thank you for your music and insightful video production.

Thank you for your comment. I contacted the dealer listed there (Yamaha), and they told me that guitar is not available in Japan. This happens sometimes in Japan. Cordoba mini II Santa Fe Model is also not available in Japan.

Hi. I hope I’m not bothering you much, but I found a internet retailer in UK who can ship the Ｄ H 6 strings to Japan. I placed an order after struggling with the credit and debt cards I have. I will let you know when it arrives.
