  • Welcome to Part 2.1 of HCC on the PCT! In this video my son and I continue our journey on the Pacific Crest Trail in Oregon, USA. These early videos are a couple weeks behind our actual journey since it is difficult to find places to upload. I will continue to post videos as often as I can to keep you up to date! We started hiking on June 26th and it is currently July 21st as I upload this video. Right now we are roughly 190 miles into our 934 mile journey! Part 2.2 will hopefully be available in the next week. I hope you enjoy our journey and follow along for the entire three month trip!

    As a retired medic that has treated numerous infantryman for blisters, I would recommend some mole skin. It is a cushioned bandage with a fuzzy texture that adheres very well. I would give each member of my platoon one sheet of the stuff. It can be applied to natural hot spots on the foot to preemptively prevent blisters. For a current blister you can do a Hot Shot treatment with benzoin tincture. You can Google that if you wish. That being said, I am having fun watching this series.

    These videos have been so cool! Thank you for posting! I have a question, what kind of permit did Jason need?

    • @HikeCampClimb
      @HikeCampClimb  9 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! Glad you are enjoying them. Jason’s PCT permit began on July 5th at Fish Lake. They are very strict about these permits. You have to be at the location on the permit on the start date listed or it is invalid. The sections of trail we hiked before that did not require a permit thankfully.

    Those blisters look bad. I know how much they hurt. About poison ivy....many many years ago a freind told my dad about the guy wno used poison ivy as TP while duck hunting....you can fill in the rest. One time as a family we went to the cup and saucer on.manitoulin island. There was a young couple au naturel practicing reproduction IN POISON IVY 1.2 TO 2 metres tall.

      They were pretty nasty! Thank goodness they are better now. Poison ivy is so miserable. Thankfully I haven’t seen any so far.

    If you slather Vaseline on your feet it helps so much with blister prevention! I hope it’s better ❤️‍🩹
