Most of these people probably came from abusive parenting etc then leading to alcoholism and drug abuse ….mental health problems are very debilitating and these people are beyond human help now..never seen this in any European country I’ve visited ..Canadian government has a duty to address this as they have plenty of resources for weapons to kill people..regulated hostels would help but not fully solve the problem

You lose your job and can’t afford your rent because it’s so inflated (especially after 2020 there’s a lack of affordable housing even for people who are working), you get evicted and can’t get your belongings back. Maybe you live in your car for awhile but of course you’re going to be ticketed and eventually it ends up in a repo lot and you can’t afford to get it out. It’s very hard to get a job since you don’t have an address. You are depressed. maybe dealing with a mental illness for which you can’t afford meds or it’s cheaper to self medicate. You might go to jail for trespassing or drug possession. Now you have a criminal record which makes it almost impossible to get a job. No job, no place to live, no money, addiction, mental illness, jail … where does it end?
Crumbling bones, brain injuries, from drug use, drug use from loosing hope, loosing hope from having no where to turn, having no where to turn from our government failing our most vulnerable citizens. You can go from middle class to here within just a few years, once you do trying to get back on your feet is almost impossible, you dont have any funds, no shower, no clean clothes, and the minute you hit the streets , everyone will look at your different if they ever look at you at all. It doesnt just all of sudden happen that you become an addict, it's the last phase of a mom or a dads life, a brother or sister, our people. Sleep well......fellow Canadians.

The federal MP was a woman by the name of Margaret Mitchell her son Mike was the worlds only black Hells Angel. More like the new normal for BC. Even our small towns are being affected. We need rehabilitation/treatment centers. A person has to be clean for 10 days before they can go into a treatment facility. But because of the lack of treatment places, the addicts are left waiting at least 2 months, with no support, so starts the cycle again.
Kinda reminds me of the dark ages scenes from the villages with the drug addicts playing the part of tavern goers and people hanging around the town square so to speak 🤔🤔🤔
