This is where india needs to change in development. If the players doesn't get enough game time how will they develop in their game iq, tactics, technical all those things. Dhyan Chand was a skilled player and not athletic and luckyly a stronger player may get selected as compared to Dhyan Chand. But Skill is always preferred over strength Indian selectors will prefer Skill over strength and fitness. Brazil had this problem with Neymar who was injured all the time because his skill and dribling was far superior that his stronger body. Ronaldino's skill was crucial. Brazil had the right mixture of strength and skill combined. Pure skill can also be prefered like Japan which are smaller in stature. The coaching in Japan is better and the Japanese economy per capita is better to overcome the problem with JUST skilled players
from where i come from, football is naturally inherited since birth, still there was little grassroots development academics back than, and even the access to international football wasn't much compared to what we have today. Plus the infrastructure back than and now is much improved and it is getting improved day by day and the grassroots level programs are in motion for quite a few years now. so we shouldn't be expecting a overnight success in international football yet. process is long and we are on right path. football is getting noticed in india and thanks to ISL & new promotion and relegation process that will get implemented soon, youngsters are getting inspired by the same.
1st of all the generation 1980 to 2010 being an sport person is not easy[particularly india] as we know what we have to face now only parents realizing the importance sof sports
partly genetics for now but if our football academy youngsters consume more meat I believe they will definitely become physically stronger. If we look at middle eastern players they don't look any less like us Indians but their physicality is beyond us. The popularity of cricket also play a role in slow growth of football. I think the introduction of ISL has played a huge role in developing our interest in football which is good. But if we take Morocco for example also including many other nations, some of their players are not home grown. Those players got developed in hardcore footballing nations and when they return and represent their native country it pays off. It is no wonder to see one or two Indian origin cricketers representing other countries. At the end of the day, despite whatever excuses we make, what really matter is interest and love for the sport. Once our interest and love for this sport is entrenched in our society, football will grow and no will be able to stop us.

We need 1) Academies to produce quality players every year 2) A long 10 month 50 ganes league to aid competition. 3) Selection of age group players from all the academies . To improve point number 1. Have a pool of academies from each state. If 8 states have state competition, pool central money to support those acads. 8 states each having 20 acads will be 160 numbers give a pool of 2 cr each year. GOI can give a support of 350cr a year for football acads. These players can easily play 40 games a year in their states and also play inter region compeition of another 10-15 games. Now these 160 acads will have atleast 30 players thats like 5000 players coming up the system.. Your top 2 leagues ISL and Div 2 will need 24 teams and 25 player each will mean 600 players. A professional will have a career of 15 year max, that means 40 players are required every year. That means 10% of players in acads will getinto professional system.. rest of then should be given education, coaching, technical, sports medicine, etc. so that they can contribute as well.
Well u can ask the same to US or Europe, being the largest economy in the world can't produce 11 best cricket players...just because few people are interested in football in India, u can't force everyone to watch it, leave alone playing it...
I’m going to say just one thing which I’ve been saying for years now - If someone reading this, who’s also at an authoritative position in Indian Football Association.. WORK ON YOUTH! Inspire young talents, encourage them to seek a career in football, train them to see results in coming 12-15 years. Grassroots programs are really important and are the only way India can succeed. You can’t have the desired results in just 4-5 years, remember you are not Japan or Korea. You are way behind them at the moment. Start with kids, and provide them amazing sporting culture in India itself and make them future greats. Grassroot is the way forward!
The problem is simple, In India experience is proceed over great talent hence India do have players which can make India team competitive however players like Sunil Chetri give preference just becz of experience (PLZ DON'T ASSUME THAT I HATE CHETTRI, I AM ONE OF HIS BELOVED ❤FAN FOR HIS CONTRIBUTION) but the fact is if India football team want to become competitive then it has to give opportunity for players which are younger and more fast , as unlike cricket in football there is needed more strength nd just becz Chetri sir scored more goal in International level that doesn't mean he cannot be replaced or substituted till he retired. One can learn from Manchester United where they don't give Ronaldo chances in playing 11 becz they prefer talent over popularity, although many Ronaldo blind fan support him nd criticize Man. United but only tough decision make you grow ..... When I see India football match I feel like I am playing in field becz I find no de-similarities btw me and that person who are playing like a regional player nd doing silly mistakes.. hence one has to understand that it is not only Bollywood where baap ka beta become actor(NEPOTISM) but also in football where neta ka beta get preference over one Kerala or West Bengal boy who has skills and talents and similarly the coach is choosed by a panel who is already selected by jugaad instead of there talent, nd we think India football is improving 😂😂😂.. don't think that I am biased but the truth is truth and that's why we are mostly below 100 rank in football
What about poor countries in Afcon... Why War Countries like Syria, Palestine, Iraq play better than india.. they also have poor federation in old time... if football is so popular in North East, Goa, Kerala then why player of these states are not have hunger like other countries... Infact its a huge opportunity for these states player to play in Indian football why you want players from Punjab, Maharashtra, Delhi
The coaching is terrible at youth level tbh, kids are never taught about the technicalities and positioning and they are usually made to ton on running and shooting, without even teaching them proper technique.💀
Exactly, India gas the advantage of young players plating on the street like in Brasil. let young players of 12 yrs old also play with senior teams.. they will develop fast because of this

Indian selectors will prefer Skill over strength and fitness.
If AiFF is serious call state FAs district FAs nd take hold of it....take all there powers nd put people who want to work not do corruption
Yes . But how to counter FSDL ?
USA 🇺🇸 Team is getting better 🇺🇸💪👍🏆🥇🔥
Jyoti chauhan is the no 9 of dyanmo zagreb women team, there are 2 more indian women in that squad
Amazing
from where i come from, football is naturally inherited since birth, still there was little grassroots development academics back than, and even the access to international football wasn't much compared to what we have today.
Oh. Are you from Suriname?
@@rutvikrs 🙄
I am really happy to see this condition of Indian football well deserved 😂😂

One day ❤
1st of all the generation 1980 to 2010 being an sport person is not easy[particularly india] as we know what we have to face now only parents realizing the importance sof sports
Next time try to make it in all hindi and local languages, because the players, grassroot players and all the stakeholders should know these facts.
Financial fair play should be in isl
How will that help? 😂
My question is really important 1.4 billion people to producing good footballer?
Sir when aiff will get rid of reliance and fsdl
With Reliance out of the picture, who should put in the money?
partly genetics for now but if our football academy youngsters consume more meat I believe they will definitely become physically stronger.
Only Odisha as a state care about sports in India, rest are just obsessed with crickets.
@AnishRaj-wh5hv People of England , Australia are also cricket lovers but see how there football team is performing . Kya India her sports mein aage jane ki kosis nahi kar sakta especially in football which is world's most celebrated and watched sport .
@AnishRaj-wh5hv Then why people always dream to see India in FIFA World Cup or dreaming India to lift the FIFA World Cup defeating big European , South American , Asian giants . Jaisa kaam waisa dream bhi dekha karona .
kisne kaha example like me who dont even care football hme kya lena dena football se hume cricket se pyar h aur india ko top 5 m aana h olympics m football se kya hi sporting country banega@@ayushmankar4100
😂 haryana, Punjab are highest medal winning states in Asian games odisha is nowhere 😅😅
Wow such an original thought. I won 15 English quadruples and three WCs on FIFA following this strategy.
@@rutvikrshe ain't wrong, Youth Development is important for all sports
@@Football_Editz0710 it's wrong because youth development is a buzzword, not a strategy.
You guys all together do something
Hunger without guidance nothing
The coaching is terrible at youth level tbh, kids are never taught about the technicalities and positioning and they are usually made to ton on running and shooting, without even teaching them proper technique.💀
5 times district level
4 times state level. etc. Age 16
Mai or aaage nhi khel sakta kyu ke i was born in India 😅🥲
Guite is 16 ...playing in ISL 🤣
Trail dete raho
Indian football team losses to Afghanistan 😢😢😢
Exactly, India gas the advantage of young players plating on the street like in Brasil. let young players of 12 yrs old also play with senior teams.. they will develop fast because of this
😂😂
