No college needed, but there are technical schools out there who will train you to be a professional truck driver. A CDL is required going into them though. I only did college to be a hydraulic diesel mechanic. I work on combines and stuff like that, CAT machinery. However, I also drive truck. Hauling the equipment to farms or the shops.

The low ends you wont make much, but the higher ends of both fields you will. I had to do 6 years of schooling. Diesel and then for hydraulics.
i have a question and its kind related to this but my son wants to be a trucker like me and he wants to know how many years do you half to have of collage and what type of collage? me i jest bought a truck with a CDL and a trailer to haul hay. i dident go to any collage.

I also had a lead start in life, my papa was a hydraulic mechanic for CAT. I'm self employed farm equipment mechanic, and a trucker. I love my life and what I do more then anything. Certified diesel mechanic, as well as welder. Got my CDl. All 3 of those combine if ya think about it.
Dam was that a flat screen for a headache rack on the back of the W900.I bet that W900 can hit trip digt in 5 gear.It sure is some thing to pull in to a truck stop with a classy ride. I had a 1968 Pete.Paint job was midnight Purple with gold glitter in the paint.4 and qaurter 2 stick4x5 browning.Yeah slap it up against the dash
Seats have real good padding, not like the crappy factory seats, and the visor actually only covers little less than half the windshield. Either way the visor is way to low, I just run a stock one with 5 led bar lights about 3 inches long each and it looks great and doesn't mess with my visibility.
Truckers don't get as much respect as they need too.
They keep this country Rollin through bad conditions or sunshine
