When AFO yelled out ‘Cathleen Bates’ I got shivers and chills.
Something about him losing his cool made me shook.

I’d call Star and Stripe a “one hit wonder,” but honestly, I get the feeling she knew she could never top how amazing this fight was so she took the W while she had it. Respect.
The first time All Might fought AFO originally (which was in the past and we didn't see) All Might smashed his head in and he actually thought he killed him. AFO hid away after this encounter. Lead to permanent injuries he couldn't heal since he got the quirks for that too late and couldn't heal pre-existing damage.
The second time we see All Might fight AFO (which we saw in S3), All Might knocked him out with big smash, then he was arrested since he didn't actually resist arrest, so subject to due process.
More specifically about the first fight.
As All Might gained an upper hand, AFO mentioned Nana, distracting All Might long enough for him to slice his stomach open. Attempting to escape, AFO paused in horror at seeing All Might chasing after him with his guts falling out, too slow to react as All Might caved his head in.
The fact Star's Vestige didn't even question where she was and immediately attacked AFO...

*A hero doesn’t go down without a fight. If I’m being honest, even though she was only around for a little bit, it was still devastating to see this happen.*
So far, as a manga reader, genuinely the death that impacted me the most was Star and Stripe, I LOVED her character. She's amazing.
I feel like anybody else that would make me feel like that would be like all might or aizawa or the main students in the class

Tbh manga readers already knew she'd be done in this ep...in the manga it was less than 10 chapters, and it's basically unanimous that she was such a wasted potential....but seeing this in the anime again, it really is emotional seeing her gone in such a heroic way tho. SALUTE TO THE GOAT #1 USA HERO!!!
PS: it's REALLY REFRESHING seeing Lee making fun of AFO here, cause Lee disrespecting Lady Nagant after what the coward AFO did to her is my ONLY beef i have with Lee in all these years LMAO

@@BuddyChy i didn't mean to offend her character, but given how much she was hyped (even in the manga), and her title as freaking Uncle Sam's #1 Hero, the most poweful woman, with one of the most powerful quirks.....being killed in a matter of 2 eps (and i believe it was like 5-6 chapters in the manga). Wasted potential bc given who she was and what she could do, she could be used to SO MUCH MORE in the story. Wasted potential EXACTLY bc she was a really good character. You should check Chibi's video that came out today.
@@pbgamer25 The problem is that there is no room for her to participate in something big at the level of the number 1 hero, only here facing the main villain "alone". She in next moments would be bad for the main characters.
Got the feeling they could used this twist for the final battle. She could get more screentime and more character interaction in this way.
I do see manga readers point about hating what happened to star and stripes. We didn't even get to know her or see much of her, introduced and killed off in 2 episodes. And that makes her feel like a plot device to nerf Afo instead of being an actual character.
May be if she was in reference to other seasons as a hero, it would have been better. But to put a character that was in a car for about 5 seconds in the first movie screen time and suddenly she is this supper strong person, never before mentioned. Makes it feel really awkward.

Wait wait wait let me clear up some things about All Might and why AFO was put in prison instead of getting killed immediately. It's commonly misunderstood but I feel it changes a lot about how we see the characters and the story.
1. All Might DID kill AFO. Before the series started. That's why AFO's face looks like a potato, cause AM literally bashed his head in. But because AM was also gravely injured he couldn't collect the body himself, and the Doctor got ahold of it and revived him.
2. The reason why All Might didn't kill AFO back in season 3 is because their fight was being broadcast live. If All Might were caught killing someone, especially since they weren't at war at that point and the general public didn't understand just how horrifying AFO was, it would've been a disaster. Not only would All Might've have to be held accountable, but the public's faith in heroes would've been absolutely destroyed, debatably more so than in season 6, cause they're Symbol of Peace is a murderer.
3. AFO's fate was more complicated than "just in prison." In season 5 (I believe), one of the Tartarus guards explained that the government knew about AFO's many connections in the underworld and feared retaliation if they killed him. Additionally, we know that Japan has a death row in this universe, so even if AFO were slated for capital punishment, he would've been waiting in line to die same as death row inmates do in our universe. Cause regardless of the fact there's superpowers involved, bureaucracy is still bureaucracy.
Correction afo never actually died the doctor doesn't just have death altering abilities. All might just left afo with crippling injuries that forced him to rely on the life support.
It was a great way to explain why the other top heroes from other counties had to stay put and not come help.
Star just made me care about her more than 90% of the character in the show in less than 2 episodes its actually crazy.

I feel like a lot of people dismiss AFO final words here. For humans the ones who survive are the ones who win. He is actually right here. Yes star fucked him up, but she is dead and new order is gone. If star had survived and made it to Japan and teamed up with Midoriya. It would have been over for AFO before the battle began. So in the grand scheme of things AFO was the victor.
In a war. He may have been the victor for the battle but will lose the war and her contribution allowed that. I don’t think people missed AFO final words. Its just her moment was heroic and bad ass. So thats what we care about.
All for One is all about himself. Hence the name.
Star and One For All are all about others and the future. Important because as you see One For All cultivates and gets passed down.

18:12 We have to remember that in the first encounter between All Might and All for One - the one that left All Might weakened - All Might crushed All for One’s skull and left him for dead, but he didn’t double tap. I mean, who would’ve thought that someone could survive their skull being crushed and splattered all over the pavement? It’s in their next encounter that All Might just ran out of gas at the crucial moment and didn’t have anything left to put AFO down for good. Also, he was on camera, unlike the last time. So, in my eyes, leaving someone in a state where they should be dead is the better accomplishment over one that leaves someone powerless. I gotta give it to All Might.

Alot of the quirks she took were irrelevant and AFO was able to regain quirks that had similar abilities to replace them (this wasn’t stated in the story but was revealed by Hirokoshi in some offhand comment) so it kinda renders the sacrifice meaningless ngl
@@STGAoe In the extras, it was mentioned she took out the super regeneration quirk as well. So, shiggy took the regeneration quirk from a High End Nomu.
So, at least there is one Nomu without regeneration so heroes can beat that one easily at least lol

I know it's far fetched but It would have been so cool if instead of new orders rule of her not decaying, if new order was given to anybody with a pure heart it would collide like one for all and work with additional quirks. thus creating a new symbol of peace, New Order, which could be given to the next user easily by simply calling their name and making the rule that it would pass on. Tomura then giving it to somebody and leaving it on a loose end.

Star sent both Shigaraki and AFO combined too the ICU for a week, and gave them less than nothing! She certainly surpassed All Might with this!
All might faced a post prime All For One with no regen. Star faced a near complete Shiggy with insta regen and decay, with all of AFO's quirks. I think star's feat is better because this Shiggy/AFO is better than the one all might fought, but that's my opinion. They are both GOATS!

Very interesting discussion at the end. While I agree that this is probably the lowest we have seen AFO, I disagree that she could have gotten away, so I think this is the perfect outcome. I think she realized, that she would lose in a battle to the death after her whole fleet and the rockets weren‘t enough to kill him, because of his regeneration. So I guess she searched for the best possible outcome, which in my eyes was the one she chose and made him lose „all“ the quirks. From a physical standpoint, All Might did more damage but I think the impact of her damage is bigger, because he really lost a lot of quirks. (I might be missing something because I‘m anime only). Great reactions by the way.

I’m just curious. I’ve read the manga. What’s the reason for some, not all, Japanese anime studios going out of their way to heavily lighten the skin of some black characters? Its weird. Other than that, this season’s pacing is going to be strange. Gonna be 24 episodes covering a couple of days.

Star is definitely great because what she’s just done is the most effective thing that’s been done so far against AFO’s regime. For now, both he and his best pawn are left on injury reserve.
One thing to consider about Star is that she could have beaten All for One in his prime or the Shigaraki of season 6. It is only this version of Afo/Shigaraki with the identity problems that she couldn't beat. All for One himself admits that he didn't dare to face her before. She was that much of a threat to him until now.

that all for one was gonna die because he was fusing with shiggy via the power he gave him. not to mention he didn't want to lose all his quirks, especially his OG stealing quirks power, not to mention decay, so he was rushing to get rid of it.

Star had that aura, where she made the impact of 2 seasons in 2 episodes. Probably because this show missed the All Might's hyper intensive aura since season 3, and this felt just perfect ! But well oh well, she did leave an impact in various ways before leaving. Else, AFO was gonna be overpowered even for Deku. Now it is fair a lil bit.
I hate how they set Star and Stripe up for failure. It was painfully obvious it was gonna be a bad end for her fight. Luckily they made her effect from her Last Order appear impactful.
