I LOVE this! I have a mac and and always get fomo when people are talking about pc games. I have a steam deck but it’s not the same as clicking a mouse at your desk in your comfy chair!
Glad I could help you learn about a new genre! And hope you get the chance to play it, I'm definitely looking forward to it as well. Thanks so much for watching Juan, its very much appreciated :)
Thanks for making this. As a Mac user, it can be hard to find cute lil cozy games that I haven't tried already. I love my Stardew and Unpacking, but I can only do so much of the same things. Although I do find myself returning to Stardew often. Of all the games I've played that aren't on this list, I would also recommend Scarlet Hollow. I think the closest game I'd compare it to is similar to Life Is Strange. It is a visual novel style game, but you get to pick your character traits, which all have unique impacts on dialogue/social interactions and relationships, and your choices do have consequences, so there is a good amount of replayability. I have played through to the end of Chapter 4. This is in early access, and they just wrapped production on the other game they were working on, so they have a clear gameplan of when Chapter 5 will be completed. The art style and vibe is kind of horrorish, and there are some supernatural elements to this storyline as well. The characters feel fleshed out and interesting. The art style is distinct from other games I've played, and I like the balance of choice, consequence, and mystery in this game. I currently have two saves going, and I haven't found it super predictable, so I do feel they've done a decent job in making the story in various paths remain interesting and engaging. I would also give a special shoutout to Strange Horticulture. I wouldn't place it up in the same league as Scarlet Hollow, but there are choices and consequences and whatnot, a bit of a mysterious vibe, and it's a cute little cozy game that isn't super challenging, but still challenging enough. This game has 8 different endings in total, and I have played through all of them multiple times. I still go back and play it even though I've long passed the point of 100% on Steam for that game, but it's kind of a comfort game for me. I would say it's good for content creators who stream and need a fun little not-too-intense but still Halloweenish game for October. You could play this game anywhere between 2-5 hours in a stream depending on how involved your chat is and if you want to allow them to impact your choices for that game.
Which one of these games will YOU be adding to your wishlist? ✨ Let me know in the comments! ⬇
